JAMIE MCMURRAY AND THE NO. 1 MCDONALD’S TEAM

McMurray on Twitter: Catch the latest from the driver of the No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet by following McMurray’s personal Twitter account, @JamieMcMurray.

Loudon Recap: After rolling off from the 29th starting position, McMurray battled with a very loose handling race car in the early stages of the race. Crew chief Kevin “Bono” Manion would call for some aggressive adjustments under the competition caution on the first pit stop of the day. The No. 1 crew continued to make fast pit stops throughout the day trying to find the right balance on the LiftMaster® Chevy. Unfortunately the caution flag would wave right after pitting on two different occasions catching the team a lap down to the leaders. McMurray was unable to overcome the deficit and would bring the No. 1 car home two laps down in the 26th position.

Previously at Dover: The action at Dover International Speedway started early as the race was red-flagged for nearly 20 minutes on lap 10 as safety crews worked to clean up a multi-car incident. The No. 1 Chevrolet went to extremes on handling, varying from both loose to tight throughout the 400-lap race. Crew chief Kevin “Bono” Manion told the team prior to the start of the FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks that they would take advantage of every caution to adjust on the Bass Pro Shops Chevy. The team did just that under each of the seven yellow flags, keeping McMurray on the lead lap and bringing the No. 1 Chevrolet to a 19th-place finish.

McMurray at Dover: McMurray has made 19 NSCS starts at Dover, earning one top-five, five top-10 finishes and 10 top-15 finishes. He has completed 7,501 laps out of a possible 7,604 or 98.6 percent, and has led 131 laps. McMurray’s average start is 16.6 and his average finish is 17.6. His best finish was second in 2006.

McMurray and Speedways: McMurray has completed 172 races on speedways (1-2 mile courses). In those 170 races, McMurray has earned two wins, 20 top-fives, 40 top-10s, and has led 840 laps.

The Mac is Back: McDonald’s rejoins the No. 1 Chevrolet as the primary sponsor. McDonald’s will be the primary sponsor in three more races this season. Be sure to make a pit stop at the local McDonald’s on your way to the race. Mcdonalds is located at 879 North Dupont Highway Dover, DE (302-734-0950)

Tee It Up: NASCAR fans have an opportunity to bid on an auction to play a round of golf with Jamie McMurray at the Gear Heads Golfing to Wreck Cancer tournament on Oct. 25 in Mooresville, NC. JUAN PABLO MONTOYA AND THE NO. 42 TARGET TEAM

Montoya on Twitter: Catch the latest from the driver of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet by following Montoya’s personal Twitter account, @jpmontoya.

Loudon Recap: Juan Pablo Montoya qualified the car in the 24th position and readied himself for 300-laps of race action. The Sylvania 300 ran in record time with only four caution flags for 17 laps. Those long green flag runs did not play in favor for the Energizer team. Montoya radioed in early on that the No. 42 Chevrolet was a handful and the team did everything they could to get it turned around with limited time on pit road. The changes helped but Montoya was never able to get back into position to make a charge to the front. When the checkered flag waved, the Energizer Chevrolet was credited with a 22nd-place finish.

Previously at Dover: The FedEx 400 experienced seven cautions for 32 laps and one red flag over the course of the 400-lap race. Unfortunately, the red flag was caused by an on-track incident just nine laps into the race which left significant damage to the Target Chevy. Montoya was running in the 28th position when he was collected up in a 12-car pileup. The team worked on the No. 42 for 99 laps back in the garage and got Montoya back out on the track. The remainder of the day was spent trying to gain as many positions as possible. When the checkered flag waved, the team was credited with 28th position.

Montoya at Dover: In his NSCS career, Montoya has made 11 starts at Dover. He has one top-five finish, two top-tens, with his highest finish of second in 2009. He has completed 4,109 laps out of a possible 4,400 laps, or 93.4 percent, and has led five laps. Montoya’s average start at Dover is 18.2, while his average finish is 23.4

Montoya on Speedways: Montoya has completed 99 races on speedways (1-2 mile courses). In those 97 starts, Montoya has earned nine top-five finishes, 17 top-tens and has led 336 laps.
