Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates driver Juan Pablo Montoya is getting a makeover for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
For the Oct. 21 race in Kansas City, Montoya’s No. 42 Target racecar will be painted “Red”—not the color, but the highly anticipated, deluxe album from six-time GRAMMY-Award winning artist Taylor Swift.
The deluxe edition of her fourth studio album, Red, will be available exclusively at Target and Target.com nationwide on Oct. 22, just one day after the big race.
As a devoted dad to three music-loving kids, Montoya is already crooning over for his car’s latest design.
“The Taylor Swift design is fun and different and I think the NASCAR fans will love it,” said Montoya. “It’ll definitely draw some attention out on the race track.”
His traditionally red racecar will be painted stark white with bright red detailing, and features the artwork from Taylor ‘s Red CD cover.
The album’s lead single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is Taylor’s biggest hit to date, spending three weeks so far in the #1 slot atop Billboard’s all-genre Hot 100 chart, topping the iTunes charts in 32 countries, selling more than 1.5 million downloads in the U.S. and breaking the record for biggest opening week ever by a woman in SoundScan history.
The second, third and fourth songs released from the album all quickly ascended to #1 on iTunes (all genres) within hours of their release. Target’s exclusive deluxe edition of Red contains the album’s 16 songs, plus three bonus tracks and three remixes.
We can’t wait for Sunday’s race or for the new album. Have a good race, Juan! We think Taylor will prove to be one very good luck charm.
