Martinsville, Va. – (October 29, 2012) Tyler Young battled persistent overheating problems in his Randco Industries Chevrolet to finish 30th in the Kroger 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday.
After qualifying 25th, Tyler was optimistic about his chances at a top 15 finish. “Just getting in the show was a proud accomplishment for us,” Tyler said. “A lot of good drivers went home. Cody Sauls and the team gave me a truck to run top 15 with but we just couldn’t keep the temperature down.”
Elaborating on his overheating issues during the race, Tyler said, “When it hit 280 I pulled it in to cool it down. We just had to keep stopping. We ran well when we were out there for sure. The guys worked hard all weekend. I wish we could have gotten a better finish for their efforts. We’re learning more and getting better each time out and that’s what’s important right now.”
Next on the schedule for Tyler and the team is the final Rev-Oil Pro Cup Series race of the 2012 season at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, N.C. The Championship 250 gets underway at 6:30pm.
