FORT WORTH, TX (November 5, 2012) – Coming off a tough short track battle last week, Jason White had his sights set on conquering Texas Motor Speedway as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season winds down. However, a loose handling condition on his No. 23 GunBroker.com / Grime Boss Ford F-150 relegated White to a tough 19th place finish in the running of the WinStar World Casino 350k at the 1.5-mile Texas speed plant.
Before an estimated crowd of 55,000, White started the 147-lap event from the 20th position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day. Much like the two practice sessions the day before, the No. 23 Ford battled with a loose condition in the early stages of the event. On their first stop down pit road, the Doug George led team tried some pit road strategy that returned Jason to the track in the top-10. However, the handling would continue to plague White and his truck as he fell back through the field. Jason was forced to manage his truck throughout the race and safely bring it home with the best finish possible.
“We really battled with a loose handling truck all weekend,” stated White. “We think that maybe we are battling an aero situation with this particular truck as the last few times we have raced it we had the same problem. We tried a little bit of everything in the practices as well as the race but it just really never made too much of a difference. We were forced to just manage the truck throughout the race to the best of our abilities and come home safely with as good of a finish as we could get. ”
The 19th-place finish kept White in the 11th position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – just 14 points out of the tenth position.
“I want to thank the guys on this team as they worked hard all weekend trying to make this truck better,” added Jason. “We have had a few tough races here recently but we have two races left and we will continue to put forth this hard effort we have all year. I would really like to finish in the top-10 in points so I am excited about these last two races and getting in two great finishes.”
Jason and his GunBroker.com/Grime Boss team return to action this Friday night, November 9th as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads west to Phoenix International Raceway for the running of the Lucas Oil 150.
