Gossage and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Edwards will be part of the Emmy Award-nominated ‘Behind The Music Remastered’

NASCAR STAR EDWARDS, TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY TO BE FEATURED ON EMMY AWARD-NOMINATED “BEHIND THE MUSIC REMASTERED: FOREIGNER” EPISODE ON VH-1 CLASSIC

FORT WORTH, Texas (March 15, 2013) – Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Carl Edwards will be part of the Emmy Award-nominated “Behind The Music Remastered” series featuring Foreigner that will debut 8 p.m. CT Saturday on VH-1 Classic and pay tribute to one of the most successful rock-n-roll bands of its era.

Gossage and Edwards will reminisce about their favorite memories of the band as well as their interaction with the group in recent years as Foreigner as become immersed in NASCAR. Foreigner was introduced to the NASCAR industry in 2009 when the group served as the pre-race entertainment headliner for the annual Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway in April. Now Foreigner has appeared at more NASCAR-related events than any other top Classic Rock band, including a return appearance to Texas Motor Speedway for the spring race last season. It also was the time when VH-1 sat down and interviewed Edwards and Gossage.

“A couple of years ago we introduced one of the most legendary rock-n-roll bands of all time, Foreigner, to NASCAR and they fell in love with the sport and the ‘No Limits’ attitude at Texas Motor Speedway,” Gossage said.

In addition to performing at the Fort Worth-based motorsports facility, Foreigner has created a special bond with Texas Motor Speedway and its staff. The band released a remix of its chart-topper “Hot Blooded” supporting the speedway’s “No Limits” marketing campaign and has raised more than $100,000 for the Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas chapter.

In addition to its bond with Texas Motor Speedway, Foreigner formed a special friendship with Edwards, who is a big fan of the group and invited them to watch the races from a special location.

“Whether we are watching the race start from our friend Carl Edwards’ pit or playing our set for the fans on the start/finish line, the thrill of a Texas Motor Speedway event is a real rush,” Foreigner’s leader and founder Mick Jones said.

VH-1 Classic can be found on channel 337 on DirecTV and channel 163 on Dish Network.  It is also available on various local cable channels.
