ADVANCE NOTES

·       Bayne in Dover

o   This Saturday Trevor Bayne will try to continue his streak of top-10 finishes at Dover International Speedway (DIS).  During his last two NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) races at the Monster Mile, Bayne locked up sixth-place finishes.

o   Bayne and the No. 6 team are also coming off a top-10 finish in Charlotte last week.  Despite the car running tight through most of the race, a chassis adjustment with less than 50 laps to go gave Bayne the control he needed to fight his way up to sixth place in the History 300.

·       The Car

o   Chassis RK-741 ran two times during the No. 6 team’s 2012 Championship season.  Last October, the team won the Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway, then the same chassis came in sixth in Homestead.

o   The chassis will feature the Ford EcoBoost paint scheme.

·       Local Connections

o   Front tire changer Cory Baldwin is from Severn MD, just a short drive across Chesapeake Bay from DIS.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on Racing in Dover:

“I like Dover.  It’s a tough race track because the transitions on the exits of the corners are really rough; it unloads the car and you have to predict it a little bit.  You’ve got to have your car dialed in there.  It’s one of the toughest tracks we go to, but I love it.”

Bayne on his history in Dover:

“We’ve always run well there.  The big thing there is to stay out of trouble and keep your tires under you, and hopefully (crew chief) Mike Kelley has a good strategy at that place and we’ll be up front the whole time.”
