JOEY LOGANO, No. 22 Hertz Ford Mustang (Finished 1st) – VICTORY LANE INTERVIEW – YOUR THIRD STRAIGHT WIN HERE BUT FIRST WITH ROGER PENSKE. “Yeah, it is amazing to finally win for the captain, Roger Penske. It feels good to get back in victory lane. This is my favorite race track. I love coming up to the northeast where I am from. It is good to get Hertz in victory lane in their first race with us. Great to win in a Ford and all that stuff combined is a big win for me and this whole team here. We have to keep forging ahead and get some more but this is definitely fun to come do Dover and finally beat those Gibbs cars.”
HOW MUCH DID THIS TRACK CHANGE FOR YOU GUYS, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU DID RIGHT-SIDE ONLY TIRES? “Jeremy made a great call on that. The call was four and he watched a couple of cars come down pit road and he said, ‘Two, two, two, two.’ The pit crew did a great job changing the plan and getting us in clean air and it was up to me to hold them off.”
DID THE TRACK CHANGE MUCH FROM CAUTION TO CAUTION? “A little bit. It lays down so much rubber as the run goes that as soon as the caution comes out the hot tires pick up all the rubber that is laid down. The first few laps is pretty skatey out there and as the rubber lays back down the track kind of gets back to normal.”
TREVOR BAYNE, No. 6 Ford Ecoboost Ford Mustang (Finished 4th) – A GOOD SOLID DAY FROM YOU TODAY. “Yeah, that two-tire stop got us in the game there. We needed that to get some track position. We are going to work on our qualifying effort so we don’t have to do that as much. I was really proud of these guys and the car that they gave me. We have had some bad runs but now we got a couple good ones in a row and we need to keep it going. Top-fives are what we gotta knock out every weekend and eventually that will lead to victory lane. We are pumped for this run. Thanks to Ford for being on the car this weekend and to Cargill for being on the car the rest of the year and to Nationwide for letting us race this weekend.”
