Looking for a Break at Bristol… Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 60 WinField Turn One Racing team head to Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday after a short turn around from 200 miles of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) racing at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday. Just two days after the addition of crew chief Joe Shear, Jr. to the organization, Armstrong and his WinField Silverado took to the half-mile Tennessee track for a one-day test. Feeling confident with their findings, the 22-year-old wheelman and his team are looking forward to getting back to Bristol for the UNOH 200 this Wednesday night.

“I felt like we had a really great chance at a good run at Michigan and just lost it at the end, but we’ve definitely made a lot of improvements over the past couple weeks,” Armstrong explained. “It was definitely a bonus to come to Bristol and test because I think we found at least a good baseline to start with this weekend. Last year we had a great run going at Bristol and lost the brakes early on, so hopefully our bad luck has run its course.”

This Weekend’s WinField Silverado… The No. 60 Turn One Racing team and crew chief Joe Shear, Jr. have prepared chassis 84 for this 200 laps of racing at Bristol Motor Speedway. This specific Silverado chassis has not yet seen competition with Armstrong this season.

Previous Race Recap: Michigan Int’l Speedway… Returning to the place of his best career NCWTS finish to date, Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 60 WinField team hoped for a repeat performance at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday. With Joe Shear, Jr. calling the shots as crew chief for the first time with the Turn One Racing team, Armstrong qualified solidly in the 13th position for the Michigan National Guard 200. Hanging tough in the draft and avoiding several on track incidents, the Indiana native was shuffled out of line on the final restart and came home in 13th place.

What can you compare a track like Bristol to?

“Bristol is definitely its own animal, but its one of the most fun short tracks I’ve been to. There’s no other track that you can compare it to and the races always seem to be pretty unpredictable. It was definitely a plus for us to get to go testing there a couple weeks ago, so hopefully we can take what we learned and apply some of it to this week’s race. A lot of what we’ll need to succeed is luck though, because you can easily get caught up in someone else’s mess at a track like Bristol.”

Broadcast Information… The new Fox Sports 1 will carry live coverage of both NCWTS practice sessions and qualifying on Wednesday, beginning at 10 am EDT. The UNOH 200 race broadcast from Bristol Motor Speedway will begin live on Fox Sports 1with the NCWTS Setup at 7:30 pm ET, with radio coverage provided by MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
