NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Crew Chief Penalized For Riverside International Speedway Rules Violation

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 21, 2013) – NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 crew chief Randy Steckly has been penalized by NASCAR following a rules infraction discovered during opening inspection on Aug. 17 at Riverside International Speedway in Antigonish, N.S.

Steckly, crew chief of the No. 22 car was found to have violated Section 12-4I (any determination by NASCAR officials that race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules) and Section 20E-12.5C (offset spindles will not be permitted: both the left side and right side front spindles were offset) of the 2013 rule book.

As a result of these violations, Steckly has been fined $500, suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.
