Martinsville Speedway’s New Party Plaza Ready For Oct. 27 Opening

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (October 2, 2013) – The Party Plaza is ready for the pre-race party to take the green flag.

Workers put the final touches on Martinsville Speedway’s new race-morning Party Plaza this week in plenty of time for a morning of fun before the Goody’s® Headache Relief Shot® 500 Powered by Kroger on October 27.

With 1,700 square feet of beautiful green sod in place, over 5,000 square feet of paving stones laid and tables and chairs strategically placed, the Party Plaza will be a comfortable spot to spend race morning, especially with the lineup of fun and entertainment set for October 27.

Four NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Jamie McMurray and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., will make appearances for emceed question-and-answer sessions. Legendary guitarist Gary Hoey will perform and there will be a live DJ. A racing simulator will be available for everyone to try their hand at racing. There will also be plenty of fun for children with a bounce house and a rock-climbing wall.

Food vendors will be on hand selling assorted items. Pepsi products will be available for purchase. There will be a beer garden with an assortment of beer at affordable prices.

“The Party Plaza will be a high-energy venue for the entire family to have a great time race morning,” said Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell. “It’s a great venue for socializing, having your favorite beverage and trying the different food offerings, being engaged in driver Q&A, trying your luck at a racing simulator or just enjoying the morning before the on-track excitement begins. The Party Plaza is where it’s happening on race morning!”

Admission to the Party Plaza, which also includes a Pre-Race Track Pass to walk along the frontstretch of Martinsville Speedway, is just $49. Youth 12 and under are admitted for $25. Tickets for the Party Plaza may be purchased by calling 877.RACE.TIX or online at www.martinsvillespeedway.com

Tickets for the Goody’s® Headache Relief Shot® 500 Powered by Kroger start at just $37.

Advance tickets for the Kroger 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Saturday, Oct. 26 are just $30 with youth 12 and under admitted free. Tickets for Pole Day, Friday, Oct. 25, are $15. Youth 12 and under are admitted free on both October 25 and 26.
