“Hotshoe” Daniel Hemric Debuting In Martinsville

Sharp-Gallaher Racing announced late Thursday night that “Hotshoe” Daniel Hemric will be piloting the #6 Jack Link’s Beef Jerky Chevy Silverado for the Camping World Truck Series Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway next weekend.

The 22-year-old Hemric has become a well-known name among the Legends Car, Modified and Late Model ranks, earning a number of victories over the past few years. He made himself a home at Concord (N.C) Speedway, first in go-karts and then when he progressed to Legends Cars at the age of 16. Hemric won back-to-back Legends Pro Championships in 2008 and 2009. He also snatched the 2009 and 2013 Summer Shootout Championship at Charlotte Motor Speedway (Concord, N.C.)

In 2010 the Kannapolis, N.C. native experience the largest win of his career at Legends Million which was a nationally televised event at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Hemric won his first Super Late Model race in 2011, and scored a  title in JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour competition in 2012.

Hemric isn’t moving away from his roots either, debuting in Martinsville will fit right into his resume after building his career on short tracks. With the prior short track knowledge anywhere from 5th-15th is expected for Hemric, after all it is Martinsville who knows what will happen.

“This is a dream come true,” said Hemric. “I am so thankful to Eddie Sharp and Bill Gallaher for the opportunity, and to Austin Dillon for putting me together with them. It is going to be great to make my NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut with a great team at SGR. Everyone has really pulled together and put in a lot of last-minute effort to make this a reality, and I cannot thank them enough. Also, a huge thank you to Jack Link’s, Valvoline, Hope for Warriors and Stitch98 for their support”

Austin Dillion is one of many few that’s recognizing Hemric has raw talent.

“This kid has been on everyone’s radar,” said team co-owner Eddie Sharp Jr. “I’m thrilled that we were able to pull together to give Daniel the opportunity to make his Truck Series debut with SGR. He is incredibly talented and has a very bright future in the sport.”
