This Week’s Camaro…The No. 30 Omnitracs team will have chassis TSM-410 for Saturday afternoon’s race at HMS. TSM-410 was last on the track in October when Piquet Jr.’s Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) teammate James Buescher drove it to an 11th-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Phoenix Recap…Making his second career NNS start at Phoenix International Raceway last Saturday afternoon in the desert, Piquet Jr. looked to gain some momentum in the ServiceMaster 200 before heading into the final race of the NNS season. Piquet Jr. and his No. 30 Qualcomm team started the weekend by qualifying 21st at the 1.0-mile oval. Piquet Jr. fought his way back from two laps down halfway through the race to bring his Qualcomm Chevrolet Camaro home with an 18th-place finish.

Nelson Piquet Jr. on his return to Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“I am looking forward to getting back on the track and returning to Homestead [Miami Speedway] this weekend. This is the last chance of the year to bring home a good finish, and my team and I have worked really hard all week to prepare. Homestead is a fast mile-and-a-half, multi-groove oval that allows for some two- and three-wide racing. I think if we can stay smart, find the right setup and stay out of trouble, we can have a big day and bring the Omnitracs Chevy home with a great finish.”

Crew Chief Scott Zipadelli on Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“Heading into Homestead [Miami-Speedway] is always a little bittersweet. It’s the last race of the season. Obviously, we would love to get a win there and finish the season out strong. We will also pay attention to the point standings because it’s very important to the team and sponsor to finish in the top five. We have a good car for this weekend, and we have momentum going to Homestead after a second-place finish at Phoenix [International Raceway] last weekend.”

No. 32 Target Chevrolet Camaro
Homestead-Miami Speedway | Ford EcoBoost 300
November 16, 2013One Last First Start…The No. 32 Target team heads to Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) this weekend for the final race of the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) season. Kyle Larson will be making his final NNS debut of the year, competing in his first NNS race at HMS on Saturday, November 16. Larson has one previous start at the 1.5-mile track, competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race last November. He started second and led 48 laps before a late-race accident relegated him to a 27th-place finish.Sprint to the Finish…Larson, who enters HMS with a sizeable lead in the NNS Sunoco Rookie of the Year Standings, will also compete in this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race. Larson will make his fourth NSCS start, driving the No. 51 Target Chevy SS for Phoenix Racing at HMS.

Eye on the Target…Target will be back on board Larson’s No. 32 Camaro for the season finale at HMS. This Week’s Camaro…The No. 32 Target team, led by crew chief Trent Owens, has prepared chassis TSM-406 for action at HMS. The Turner Scott Motorsports team hopes to turn the luck around for TSM-406 this weekend, after bad luck has plagued the two races in which this car was slated to be used.

Watch and Listen…The 2013 NNS season finale will air live on ESPN on Saturday, November 16. Pre-race coverage begins at 4:00 p.m. EST. The race will also be broadcast on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Previous Race Recap…Larson and the No. 32 Target team returned to Phoenix International Raceway when the NNS visited the 1.0-mile track for the second and final time this season. After two solid practice sessions, Larson entered the ServiceMaster200 looking to improve on the 13th-place finish he earned in his NNS debut in March. He was on his way to meeting that goal, working his way up to the eighth position before a blown right-front tire forced the No. 32 Target Chevy into the wall, sending the team to the garage and relegating Larson to a 32nd-place finish.

Kyle Larson on Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“I’m looking forward to getting back to Homestead. I’ve never ran there in a Nationwide car, but we had a good run going last year in the Truck race. Although we didn’t get a finish that reflected how well we ran, we were really competitive there. Hopefully we can carry that over to the Nationwide side and end the season on a really good note for all of the guys back at the shop and for Target.”
