CANADIAN TIRE AND THREE TIME RACING CHAMPION SCOTT STECKLY TEAM UP FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Toronto, Ontario (February 9, 2014) – Canadian Tire is pleased to announce the renewal of their ongoing, successful sponsorship of NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Champion, Scott Steckly.  2014 will mark the sixth straight season Canadian Tire has put its support behind Steckly – a three-time NASCAR Champion, who won the event in 2008, 2011 and 2013.  A fan favourite, Steckly will kick-start the NASCAR season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park during the Victoria Day Speedfest Weekend.

“As a longtime supporter of motorsport in Canada and the Official Automotive Retailer of NASCAR in Canada, Canadian Tire is committed to growing the sport nationally, both at the amateur and professional levels,” said Landon French, Vice President, Sport Partnerships, Canadian Tire. “We’re thrilled to be working with Scott for the sixth straight season.  He and his crew are among the most accomplished and experienced teams in the series, they truly embody the sport, and we look forward to cheering them on again.”

“You can never take a break in this sport – if you’re not getting better, you’ll get left behind by the competition,” said NASCAR champion driver and team owner Scott Steckly.  “Our collaboration with Canadian Tire will provide us with a strong start to the 2014 season.  We are very proud to be sporting the Canadian Tire triangle for the sixth year and plan to run up front and take them to the winners circle often in 2014.”
