Post-Qualifying Quotes NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
It’s kind of good and it’s kind of bad. To have not done much in 12 months to help our car get though the bumps better is confusing. We just need to plug away at that. I may have lost some speed in Turns 3 and 4 with handling, a little bit in the tight side. We had to go out early because we struggled in practice. Maybe we’re going to get bit by that qualifying bug, where you qualify in order of how you practice. Our Pennzoil Ultra Dodge was better. We picked up three or four tenths and we need to continue to do that. We have to get through the bumps better between Turns 1 and 2.”
BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger R/T) Qualified 20th “I thought that our Miller Lite Dodge was a little bit faster than it actually qualified. The car handled decent, we just need a little bit of speed. We’ll keep working on it tomorrow. I thought that we had a pretty good day so far. We didn’t quite get the qualifying lap that we hoped for today. It’s pretty bumpy in Turns 1 & 2 and guys are really struggling getting a hold of the track. We just need to keep working on this Miller Lite Dodge and get ready for Sunday.”
ROBBY GORDON (No. 7 SPEED Energy Dodge Charger R/T) Qualified 38th “For us, it was just an OK qualifying run in our SPEED Energy Dodge. We’re just bouncing around. We went from one direction to the other for qualifying. We’re just struggling trying to get hold of the race track. I thought that we would be better than that when we rolled out here. Turns 1 and 2 have gotten so rough, the mechanical grip has changed so much because of the bumps. We just need to figure out the right combination that our Dodge likes.”
