Gilliland Showcases Love’s Ford at Partner’s ‘Home’ Track

Driver Takes Confidence, Speed to ‘Fast’ and ‘Unique’ Texas Speedway

STATESVILLE, APRIL 1, 2014 – David Gilliland, driver of the No. 38 Love’s Travel Stops Ford, comments on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:”I feel very confident going to Texas based on what we learned at Las Vegas. We had some issues late in the race in Vegas that hindered our finish. But, as far as drivability of the car and raw speed, we had it for sure. That’s exciting and very promising for our team and for Front Row going to Texas now.”Texas is super fast. It’s one of those tracks where you feel like that little airplane on the end of the string going around there. Just really, really fast. It’s fun. The bumps make it really unique in Turns 1 and 2, and that’s also what makes it challenging.

“We’ll have Love’s Travel Stops back on our Ford Fusion for Texas. They’re headquartered up the road in Oklahoma City, so this is kind of their home race. They”ll have a lot of people coming out to the track for the race, and we’ll be visiting a Love’s store in Fort Worth on Friday. It’s going to be kind of a showcase weekend for them and we can’t wait.”

JUST THE FACTS: Gilliland has 15 Sprint Cup career starts at Texas Motor Speedway … His top finish at Texas is 15th (2008) … The driver turns 38 years old today … Gilliland will sign autographs at the Love’s Travel Stops store at 200 Garden Acres Dr. in Fort Worth on Friday from noon to 1 p.m.

No foolin’. Today is @DavidGilliland’s birthday. His age is now the same number as the @LovesTravelStop Ford. #NASCAR
