BIFFLE DRIVES 3M SCOTCH FORD TO 15TH-PLACE FINISH AT RICHMOND

RICHMOND, Va. (April 26, 2014) – Saturday night racing under the lights at Richmond International Raceway proved to be eventful for Greg Biffle and his 3M Pit Bulls. Biffle started the race 26th due to qualifying being rained out and looked to have a 3M Scotch Ford capable of a top 10. As the laps dwindled down a tight handling condition developed, and that combined with a few mishaps on pit road resulted in lost track position. Biffle battled back and earned a 15th-place finish.

As the race got under way, Biffle wasted no time advancing through the field with his 3M Scotch Ford. Just under 80 laps into the race Biffle cracked the top 10.

Under caution on lap 288 Biffle pitted for four tires, fuel, air pressure and wedge adjustments. Unfortunately, Biffle misjudged his pit box and stopped short, costing valuable time as the team had to signal him forward into his pit. Biffle dropped from 13th to 22nd on the stop.

As the race continued, Biffle’s 3M Scotch Ford continued to get tighter. Multiple cautions unfolded as the race came to a close and being further back in the pack put Biffle in the middle of the trouble on the track. Biffle survived to the end with minor fender damage and was able to leave Richmond with a 15th-place finish and remains 11th in the Sprint Cup point standings.
