Red Horse Racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway… In 16 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Red Horse Racing has one top-five, four top-10 finishes and one pole award (Timothy Peters, 2011).
Red Horse Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck Series History… Since entering NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition in 2005, RHR has logged 389 starts, earning 12 wins, 74 top-five finishes, 162 top-10 finishes and 11 pole awards, with an average starting position of 13.5 and an average finishing position of 14.3.
There’s No Place Like Home… Although North Carolina is now home to most Red Horse Racing employees, a small collection grew up in the Tar Heel State. No. 7 team mechanic Kyle Shook calls Claremont, North Carolina home, while the No. 17 team is full of North Carolinians. Driver Timothy Peters grew up in Providence, crew chief Marcus Richmond hails from Leasburg, engineer Andrew Overstreet is from Concord, jack man Nate House is from Gastonia, spotter Chris Lambert is from Kannapolis and engine tuner David Ward is from Hertford.
In Memory of Patricia Petty… The Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundras will carry a special decal at Charlotte Motor Speedway to honor the memory of Patricia Petty, who passed away on May 11. Mrs. Petty, wife of 2014 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Maurice Petty, is the mother of RHR suspension specialist Mark Petty.

Peters History at Charlotte Motor Speedway… Peters has two top-10 finishes at Charlotte Motor Speedway in his eight previous starts at the Concord, North Carolina race track. The Red Horse Racing driver earned the pole award there in the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event with a 177.2 mph lap. He has led a total of 47 laps at CMS and holds an average starting position of 10.6.
Let’s Go Places…to the Toyota Pit Pass… Fans can participate in a Q&A session with Peters on Friday, May 16, from 3-3:30 p.m. Eastern Time at the Toyota Pit Pass in the Charlotte Motor Speedway Midway.
Cardinal for a Day… Peters traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to promote the return of NASCAR to Gateway Motorsports Park. In addition to a busy media tour, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series veteran threw out the first pitch at the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game on Tuesday, May 13. Truck Series action resumes at the Madison, Illinois speedway on Saturday, June 13.
Race Rewind: Kansas Speedway… Timothy Peters and the No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra team secured the eighth starting position following the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ first attempt at the new elimination-style qualifying format. The No. 17 Tundra received damage in a multi-truck incident on lap one, and when Peters was able to return to the race track he was six laps down to the leader. The No. 17 team continued to make adjustments and with patience and perseverance, climbed back into the top 15. Scored with a 14th-place finish, Peters left Kansas Speedway second in the championship point standings, eight points behind leader Matt Crafton.

On rallying to a top-15 finish at Kansas Speedway after a night of unfortunate events… “That wasn’t how we imagined our night would go at Kansas [Speedway]. We went there feeling optimistic after a solid test at Charlotte [Motor Speedway]. To have everything go wrong on the first lap was frustrating, but this team never threw in the towel. We just kept at it and finished the race. We have a lot of racing left this season, and we’re ready to compete at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend.”
On being in contention for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship and the team’s momentum heading to Charlotte Motor Speedway… “I feel like we’re off to an incredible start this season, despite a few bumps in the road. I’ve got a hardworking team behind me who have worked hard to build me great trucks each weekend. We’re sitting second in the points and I feel confident that we’ll be in contention for this championship at the end of the season.”

Quiroga at Charlotte Motor Speedway… Quiroga has one previous start at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where the rookie driver was forced to start in the rear of the field after making contact with the wall during his qualifying lap. Early in the race, Quiroga’s Toyota Tundra sustained right-side damage after making contact with a competitor and was forced to make an unscheduled pit stop for repairs. As the Red Horse Racing driver was making his way back to the pack, he cut down a right front tire and slammed into the wall in turn three ending their night early in the 35th position.
Hispanic Making NASCAR History… Quiroga jumped to fourth in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver championship point standings after his seventh-place finish Friday, May 9, at Kansas Speedway. This marks the first time a Hispanic driver has been ranked in the top five in points in any of the NASCAR national touring series. The Mexico City native made history last season when he became the first Mexican-born driver in any NASCAR series to earn a pole award at an oval track.
Quiroga on “The Wilson Show”… Quiroga and RHR teammate Brian Ickler will join Jon Wilson from WCCB Charlotte on Thursday morning at Charlotte Motor Speedway to give him some pointers on how to drive the “Hiring Our Heroes” Tundra monster truck. The segment will air live May 15, on WCCB News Rising’s “The Wilson Show”.
Quiroga on Republica Deportiva… Quiroga will embark on a new adventure on Saturday, May 17, at the National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He will be joined by Telemundo personality Omar Amador for a ropes course and whitewater rafting challenge at the training facility for a segment that will air on Telemundo’s popular sports program, Republica Deportiva.
Race Rewind: Kansas Speedway… Quiroga finished seventh in the SFP 250 at Kansas Speedway and moved up to fourth in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings after a challenging race weekend. A flat tire in the closing minutes of final practice sent Quiroga into the outside wall and required the No. 77 team to go to a backup truck. Quiroga felt he had a competitive Tundra; however, on lap one the Mexico City native was collected in a multi-truck incident. The OtterBox team worked to repair the damage, giving Quiroga a truck with which he could finish the race. The seventh-place result was Quiroga’s third top-10 finish of the season and fourth consecutive top 10 in Camping World Truck Series competition.

On a top-10 finish after an unfortunate start to the SFP 250 at Kansas Speedway… “I am so happy with our results at Kansas (Speedway) and I can’t thank the team enough. After we wrecked in practice, the team worked extremely hard to give me a backup No. 77 OtterBox Toyota Tundra that was just as good as our primary truck. We didn’t qualify as well as we wanted and then got tangled up in the first caution of the race, so to finish seventh after all of that was a big success in my opinion. We moved up to fourth in points and I feel really confident heading into Charlotte this week.”
On moving into the top five in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship point standings… “Our goal this season has been to earn as many points as possible each race weekend, which I feel like we’ve done, and if we can do that I think we’ll be fighting for a championship at the end of the year. We’ve been able to earn three top-10 finishes and after last weekend we moved up to fourth in the point standings. We’re going to continue fighting hard each week and hopefully will capture that first win soon.”

This Week’s Bullet Liner Toyota Tundra at Charlotte Motor Speedway… Ickler will be piloting chassis No. 018 in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. This chassis is brand new to the Red Horse Racing stable and was built specifically for mile and a half race tracks.

A Little More About Ickler… Ickler cut his teeth off-road racing when he was 14 years old. By the age of 17, he was named the SCORE Rookie of the Year, Lite champion, and has victories in the SCORE Baja 1000, Baja 500, and San Felipe 250. In addition to his experience in the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series, the Poway, Calif., native has collectively made 43 starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series (East and West divisions), earning seven wins and five pole awards. Since his NASCAR Camping World Series debut at Kansas Speedway in 2009, Brian Ickler has not driven for any other manufacturer except Toyota.
Ickler at Charlotte Motor Speedway… This will be Ickler’s second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He made one previous start in the series at the Concord, N.C. race track in 2009 where he rallied to a 16th-place finish after starting 24th.
Race Rewind: Kansas Speedway… Brian Ickler and the No. 7 Bullet Liner Toyota Tundra team were fast in both practice sessions at Kansas Speedway and secured the fourth starting position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ first effort of the new elimination style qualifying format. In the early laps Ickler reported a loose-handling condition on the Bullet Liner machine, and on lap eight the No. 7 Toyota Tundra suddenly snapped loose and made hard contact with the outside retaining wall of turn four. After assessing the damage, the Bullet Liner team determined that it was too extensive to return to the race track. Ickler was scored with a 27th-place finish.

On the disappointing finish at Kansas Speedway… “We had a great Bullet Liner Toyota Tundra at Kansas Speedway last weekend. It was just hard, three-wide racing early in the race. I got up too high on the track and it just got loose. Not a good night for us, but we’ve regrouped, put it behind us and are ready to race at Charlotte [Motor Speedway].
On racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway… “I love racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway because it is right in our backyard and it feels like coming home. We were able to test there a few weeks ago so I feel really confident with how prepared we are as a team. It should be a good race weekend for us.”
