Gilliland and Love’s Travel Stops Salute Military at Daytona

Hood of No. 38 Ford Signed by Active Military and Race Team’s Veterans

STATESVILLE, JULY 1, 2014 – David Gilliland, driver of the No. 38 Love’s Travel Stops Ford, comments on racing at Daytona International Speedway:”Daytona is obviously a special place. And we’ve got an awesome paint scheme on our Love’s Travel Stops Ford Fusion. Front Row and Love’s wanted to show our support for the military, so they created a special scheme and it says ‘We love our troops’ on the quarter panel. Love’s has a huge commitment to the military and wanted to salute the servicemen and women on behalf of the entire trucking industry.

“We unveiled the car at a Love’s store last week with the help of four U.S. Army Soldiers, and they signed the hood after the unveiling. We also have some military veterans on the race team who work on the car and they signed it as well. So, all those guys will be riding with me at Daytona for the Fourth of July weekend race and we couldn’t be prouder.

“We absolutely have a shot at Victory Lane. We had a great car for the 500 earlier this year.  Although, as far as all the tracks that we go to twice, Daytona is the one that changes the most between races. You come back with a whole different set-up in July from the one you ran in February. It’s just so hot and slick. But, we know we have a shot at winning there every time we go, so we’re eager to get there.”

JUST THE FACTS: Gilliland has 12 Sprint Cup career starts at Daytona International Speedway … He has one top-five and two top-10 finishes, and one pole at the 2.5-mile superspeedway … His top finish at Daytona is third (2011) … Love’s Travel Stops returns as primary sponsor of the No. 38 with a special “We Love Our Troops” camouflage paint scheme.

. @DavidGilliland’s ‘We Love Our Troops’ @LovesTravelStop Ford is signed by active Army Soldiers + veterans from @FrontRowNASCAR..
