ADVANCE NOTES

·         Daytona Recap

o   After rain cancelled night racing at Daytona International Speedway, Carl Edwards hit the two-and-a-half mile track Sunday morning, starting in the 11th-spot. The No.99 Subway Ford Fusion was running with a tight pack in three-wide formation and was caught up in a 16-car pileup on lap 20. The team worked hard in the garage to reassemble the mangled machine and the Roush Fenway driver would come back out, 45 laps down, to finish the day in 37th.

·         Edwards at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

o   Edwards is still looking for his first victory at NHMS, with a career-high finish of second in 2006.

o   Edwards has 19 Sprint Cup starts at the 1.058-mile track with an average start of 15.3 and an average finish of 13.8

o   Edwards has one win at Loudon in the NASCAR Nationwide Series which came in 2006.

·         The Car

o   Primary chassis RK-886 was last run in 2014 at Richmond, starting in the 16th-spot and finishing ninth.

o   Backup chassis RK-874 was last brought to Dover in 2014 where it started in 29th and ended the day in the 14th-position.

Edwards on New Hampshire:

“New Hampshire is home of the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Sports Group, so there would be nothing that would make those at Roush Fenway prouder than winning a race at New Hampshire. It is a fun race track and is deceivingly simple, but the one-mile oval is pretty treacherous especially into turn 3. There are some bumps and its flat and unforgiving if you overdrive the corner. We haven’t had much luck there lately but our short track program has been very good over the past year-and-a-half or so, so hopefully we can get a good run there in our Fastenal Ford. At this point we have nothing to lose so we will just go for the win.”
