Atlanta Motor Speedway to host six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson on Aug. 6th at Dantanna’s and the Metro Atlanta Chamber

HAMPTON, Ga. (July 30, 2014) — Six-Time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson will visit Atlanta on Wed., Aug 6 and participate in a host of activities in preparation of the Atlanta 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway Labor Day Weekend.

Fans will have the opportunity to qualify to compete against Johnson on a virtual Atlanta Motor Speedway in a 270-degree racing simulator located in Dantanna’s Downtown restaurant between 10:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. The participant posting the fastest qualifying time will compete head-to-head against Johnson at 1:15 p.m.

All fans who participate in qualifying will receive a discounted ticker offer to purchase an Upper Petty grandstand ticket for only $59 for the Atlanta 500.  The first 25 participants who post a time better than Johnson’s pre-established time will win a free Upper Petty ticket to the Aug. 31 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Johnson will also visit with Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and will participate in the Sports Leadership Series Networking event from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Metro Atlanta Chamber.  Lunch will be served and members of the business community who would like to attend the event should contact the Metro Atlanta Chamber at 404-586-8534.

Johnson will participate in a question and answer session as part of the program at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. Doug Rice of Performance Racing Network will moderate the event. NASCAR President Mike Helton and newly elected NASCAR Hall of Famers Rex White and Bill Elliott will also be in attendance.
