MATT KENSETH, No. 20 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position:  8th

How was qualifying?

“It was good.  We got a good second lap and the third lap wasn’t quite as good in the last round but it was good.  It was a lot better than we expected.  I think we made a lot of improvements from yesterday.  We had a lot more speed and the car drove a lot better, so that was encouraging.”

BRIAN VICKERS, No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position:  12th

How was your qualifying effort?

“It was good.  I think after everything we went through yesterday — like the guys said, we can consider it a victory.  Once we were into the second round we obviously wanted more and I wanted more and I tried to go for the pole and just got loose.  Just asked too much of it and I ended up sideways in (turn) seven and almost spun again and the lap was over.  I think we had a good lap up to that point and we’re probably contending for certainly better than where we ended up in 12th.  Just wasn’t meant to be.”

What issues did you have during practice yesterday?

“Yesterday we had a lot of brake issues.  We had a lot of transmission issues and we actually never even got a qualifying lap in.  So, considering that was the first qualifying lap on the race track and I was pleased with it and proud of the guys.  They did a great job getting everything fixed going into today and the Camry drove pretty good.  We were a little too loose in round two at least for how much I was asking of the car but not too bad otherwise.  Everyone on the Aaron’s Dream Machine did a great job and I’m really proud of the effort.”
