CHASTAIN CARRIES MOMENTUM TO ATLANTA

HAMPTON, Ga. – After a sensational start at Daytona International Speedway with a ninth-place finish, Ross Chastain is ready for Race Two Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Chastain’s top-10 finish in the Daytona opener was a sparkling debut in the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 4 Chevrolet, sponsored by Watermelon.org and Flex Shot.

The run puts Chastain in fifth place in Xfinity Series points heading into Saturday’s Hisense 250.

Chastain also has the early lead in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings.

“It was a great start, no doubt about it,” Chastain said. “We had a great car at Daytona and came away with a great finish. Now it’s time to show what we can do at Atlanta.”

Chastain hasn’t raced in the Xfinity Series at AMS, but he finished 20th there in a Camping World Truck Series race in 2012.

Practice is scheduled at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Friday, with qualifying set for 9:10 a.m. Saturday and the race at 2 p.m. Saturday.
