Elliott Sadler makes his 24th NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) start at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) this Friday night in Richmond, VA. In Sadler’s previous 23 starts, he has two top-five and 10 top-10 finishes at RIR. Sadler has also led 77 laps at RIR in the NXS.
Sadler has finished in the top-10 in seven of his last eight NXS races at RIR.
Last Week’s Race
Sadler finished in 10th-place during Saturday’s NXS race at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS). Sadler qualified for the Drive to Stop Diabetes 300 on Saturday morning and started the race from the 12th position. He took care of his No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford Mustang for 300 laps of intense madness at the half-mile race track in Bristol, TN. Through hard driving and methodical pit stops, Sadler was able to bring home a top-10 finish.
2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series Driver Point Standings
Following BMS, Sadler moved up one position in the NXS Driver Point Standings. After seven races, he is now in the sixth position and is 43 points behind the leader.
Race Coverage
TV coverage for this week’s NXS race is Friday night on FOX Sports 1 at 7:30PM ET.
Going Green
This Friday night, Sadler will sport an all-green paint scheme in support of the partnership between OneMain Financial and the National Forest Foundation. This year, OneMain Financial will help plant 200,000 trees in Montana’s Custer-Gallatin National Forest which is a key part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
Elliott Sadler’s #1TreewithE Contest
Over the past few weeks, Sadler conducted a contest through his social media accounts called #1TreewithE. Fans in the Richmond area could send a message to @Elliott_Sadler saying “Hey @Elliott_Sadler! Come to my house in (Your Town) and plant a tree with me #1TreewithE.” On Friday of last week, Carol Nixon in North Chesterfield, VA was selected as the contest winner. This Thursday, Sadler will celebrate at Nixon’s house by planting a tree and bringing BBQ dinner for the Nixon and 20 of her friends.
QUOTE WORTHY
“Richmond is always a special race weekend for me. I’ve been racing at Richmond for many years and I’ve been coming here as a fan for even longer. I’ve always said I’d rather win in Richmond over any other race track. As a team, we’re coming off a great top-10 finish at Bristol, and we’re going to have our hands full on Friday since we have practice, qualifying and the race all in one day. But, we’ll be easy to spot on the track with our all-green paint scheme this week. OneMain Financial has a great relationship with the National Forest Foundation and as an outdoorsman, it’s awesome for my sponsor to highlight the National Forest Foundation on our car.”
