ADVANCE NOTES

Wallace at Iowa

Sunday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Iowa Speedway marks Bubba Wallace’s third NASCAR XFINITY Series start at the track.  Wallace raced in both events in 2012.  In the spring he started eighth and finished ninth, while in the summer he started second and led 36 laps before finishing seventh.

In three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at Iowa Speedway, Wallace has earned one pole (2014), and two top-10 finishes, along with leading 41 laps.

Wallace has four NASCAR K&N Pro Series East starts at Iowa Speedway, with a best start of third (2012) and a best finish of third (2010).

So far in the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series season, Wallace ranks first in the number of quality passes, with 520.  He also maintains an average running position inside the top-10.  Out of 1,696 laps thus far, Wallace has spent 1,530 of them racing inside the top-15 (90 percent).

On the Car

The No. 6 Mustang carries the Ford EcoBoost colors this weekend in Iowa.  Ford EcoBoost technology combines smaller overall size with turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve timing to bring customers outstanding performance and fuel economy.

Recapping Talladega

Wallace and the No. 6 SpongeBob SquarePants Ford Mustang finished 20th at Talladega Superspeedway, after a late-race melee left the Ford Mustang with damage.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bubba Wallace on racing at Iowa Speedway

“I am excited to get back to Iowa, which is another track that I’ve always run well at.  I’ve got a pretty good feel for that place.  Chad [Norris] says that their cars have always been fast in the past, so I am excited to climb aboard our Mustang and see what we have.”
