Buescher at Iowa Speedway

Chris Buescher makes his third NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Iowa Speedway on Sunday.  In his two previous starts, which both came last season, Buescher’s best starting position was ninth (summer) and his best finishing position was 13th (spring).

So far this season in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, Buescher holds the second best record for average running position (9.6) and the number of quality passes (517).

Buescher also has four ARCA Racing Series starts at Iowa Speedway, where he earned two top-five finishes, a fourth-place result in 2009 and a third-place result in 2011.  In his four starts, Buescher started no lower than 14th and finished no lower than 13th.

 

On the Car

The No. 60 Ford Mustang carries the Roush Performance colors this weekend in Iowa.

Recapping Talladega

Buescher raced up front for the majority of Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.  In the closing laps the Prosper, Texas native was in position, battling for the lead, before crossing the finish line in sixth in his No. 60 Bit-O-Honey Ford Mustang.

“The thing that’s nice about Iowa is that the groove widens out and you’re able to move around, as long as it doesn’t get too dirty up at the top we’re able to really spread out and use the whole racing surface.  I think that’s why I like it and why I think of it as more of a short track as you’re able to really hustle around any of the lines to make up speed.”
