200 LAPS, 300 MILES

This Week’s Texas 28 Spirits Stage Toyota at Charlotte Motor Speedway:  JJ Yeley will pilot Chassis No. 221 in the Hisense 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This car is newly rebuilt in the JGL Racing stable and features a brand new body on this No. 28 Toyota. This is the first race of the 2015 season for this chassis.

Yeley at Charlotte Motor Speedway:

JJ will be making his 11th career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Charlotte Motor Speedway to go along with 13 previous starts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at the Concord, North Carolina track. Yeley has a best finish of third at the 1.5-mile track which occurred during the 2006 NASCAR XFINITY Series event.

Last year JJ and his No. 28 JGL Racing team finished 21st in the Memorial Day weekend event at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

JJ’s Thoughts on Charlotte:

“Racing in Charlotte is always special for a few reasons.  First, it is home for most of the race teams and crew members so racing in front of family and friends is always a big deal.  Also, with the Spring race in Charlotte being Memorial Day Weekend it is a time for all of us to pay tribute to the brave men and women who lost their lives while serving in our country’s armed forces.

“We are coming off a very disappointing race last weekend in Iowa.  We had a pretty strong run going and just got caught up in a bad situation.  This JGL Racing team is resilient and I know we will bounce back stronger.  We are bringing a newly rebuilt car this week and if we work out any bugs we may have early in practice then I know we will be solid come race time on Saturday. ”

Crew Chief Corner with Steve Plattenberger:

“Iowa was just a bad deal all the way around.  We had a good run going and I believe we would have had a top-10 finish at the end of the day.  It just didn’t work out for us but I have no doubt we will rebound in a strong way this week at Charlotte.”

“We are bringing a newly built Toyota with us this week in Charlotte.  It will be important for us to utilize our practice time to shake down the car while at the same time dialing in our handling package.  We will work on it and figure it out and be ready to for another solid performance on Saturday.”
