Ryan Wilson Staying In The Gas On And Off The Track

RANDLEMAN, North Carolina (April 20, 2011) – – While his NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) schedule has been plagued by terrible weather the last couple of weeks, that doesn’t mean that Ryan Wilson hasn’t been busy.

In addition to working at his Ryan Wilson Motorsports (RWM) shop, Wilson has been steadily preparing for his transition back to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards which included a recent trip to Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway for the 3 Amigos 250.

Wilson, the winner of last Fall’s Richard Petty Driver Search II is gearing up for his debut with Win-Tron Racing which is scheduled to begin at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway in June. Wilson, like he did for the season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway was getting more acquainted with his team and learning the ropes for his upcoming battles.

“I’m learning a lot right now,” said Wilson, who will return to Late Model form this Saturday night at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway in his No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry. “The Win-Tron Racing guys are really cool to work with. They aren’t afraid to come up and ask questions and also make me feel right at home. I think this approach will only strengthen our relationship heading into Pocono.”

As far as his championship run at Caraway is concerned, Wilson is anxious to get back to work. “It feels like forever since we’ve raced,” he explained. “While, we cannot control the weather, it stinks that we haven’t been racing. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can get both races and hopefully go back to victory lane on Saturday night!”

Round four for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at Caraway resumes on Saturday, April 13 with two 50-lap feature events beginning shortly after 7:00 p.m. Eastern. After three races, Wilson sits eighth in the championship standings just 30 points from the top-spot.

In addition to racing at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway and a limited ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule, Wilson will also compete in Late Model stock car events at Ace (N.C.) Speedway and other selected Late Model contests.
