Front Row Motorsports 5-Hour Energy 301 Preview

5-Hour Energy 301
New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon, N.H.

Brett Moffitt | No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford

“I’ve been to Loudon quite a bit in a K&N car. I think it’s a really fun racetrack. I look forward to getting back to a short track. Obviously, I’m going in a different car this time, but a lot of it is just knowing the surface and the grooves, and how a car acts know no matter what you’re driving. It helps my confidence a lot going there. It lets me focus on just doing my job driving the race car.”

JUST THE FACTS: Sunday’s race will be Moffitt’s Sprint Cup debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway … He has one win and three poles in eight starts in the K&N Pro Series East at the one-mile oval … The Dockside Logistics colors return to the No. 34 Ford for the New Hampshire race.

Cole Whitt | No. 35 Front Row Motorsports Ford

“The flatness of Loudon is what makes it so tough, being only a mile and tight corners. It’s really heavy braking. It’s like a really big Martinsville. You actually still have some pretty decent corner speed, you just have a feeling of being up out of the track. A lot of these late-model guys are really good at it, because that’s what they grew up racing, and I never did that. So, it’s a little different for me. Last year, I was actually pleased with how my race went, so we’ll look to get even better this time.”

JUST THE FACTS: Whitt has two Sprint Cup career starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway … His best finish is 28th (2014).

David Gilliland | No. 38 MDS Transport Ford

“Loudon is probably one of the toughest racetracks for me personally. It’s so flat, and it’s hard to pass. It’s just one groove. But Donnie (Wingo) has some stuff he wants to try and feels pretty good about, so we’ll look forward to that. I’ve had some decent finishes and run OK there, and we’ll hope to make some progress when we go back this week. ”

JUST THE FACTS:  Gilliland has 16 Sprint Cup starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway … His best finish at the one-mile oval is 18th (2013)  … MDS Transport returns as primary sponsor of the No. 38.
