ADVANCE NOTES

Sadler at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Elliott Sadler will make his fourth NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) start at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) this Saturday afternoon. In 2012, the NXS moved locations from down the road at Lucas Oil Raceway to the big house at IMS. Sadler has raced in each NXS race at IMS.

The veteran driver from Emporia, Va. also has 12 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at IMS with one pole award, two top-five and two top-10 finishes.

Previous NASCAR XFINITY Series Race

Sadler finished in 17th-place during last Saturday’s NXS race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Sadler qualified for the 200 lap event on Saturday morning and started the afternoon race from the 17th position. The No. 1 OneMain Financial crew battled with handling issues in both practices on Friday and the same problem carried over to the race on Saturday. Sadler raced in the middle of the pack for the majority of race, but couldn’t work his way forward with the handling issues. Sadler crossed the finish line on Saturday afternoon in the 17th position.

2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series Driver Point Standings

Following the NXS race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Sadler slipped back one position in the NXS Driver Point Standings. After 17 races, Sadler is 68 points behind the leader and currently stands in the fifth position.

Race Coverage

TV coverage for Saturday’s NXS race will be on NBC at 3:30PM ET.

QUOTE WORTHY

“Ask any race car driver and winning at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be on their bucket list. I came close to winning a few years ago and I would love to erase that memory with a new one of my No. 1 OneMain Financial crew celebrating in Victory Lane this Saturday evening. We didn’t have the best finish last week at New Hampshire, but I know my guys in the shop worked extremely hard on getting this Indy car ready to go. It should be an interesting weekend for the fans and for the teams, as we all see how the new NASCAR changes will affect our race cars.”
