Fans coming to the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 at Phoenix International Raceway will be in for a treat prior to the race on Sunday, Nov. 15. That morning, the popular rock-n-roll group Everclear will perform a pre-race concert in the fan midway area at 10:30 a.m. MST.
The National Motorsports Appeals Panel today heard and considered the appeal of a P4 penalty issued on Sept. 23 to Rob Kauffman (owner), Clint Bowyer (driver), and Billy W. Scott (crew chief) relative to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series vehicle #15 at Chicagoland Speedway.
"I really like Dover. I've won a couple times there. My last Cup race there didn't go so well, but races before that have always gone really well for me. Hopefully we can improve upon our package that we took there last time and try to get a little bit better. Concrete tracks are tough when they rubber up, and it's hard to hit the set-up just right. It's easy to be off. Hopefully we'll go back with a little more knowledge and be a little bit better with our CSX 'Play It Safe' Ford."
Denny Hamlin finished second to Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Matt Kenseth in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, recording his eighth top-five finish in the previous 12 events in the #11 FedEx Freight Toyota Camry. Hamlin made his final pit stop of the day with 69 laps to go on the flat, one-mile oval, and charged up to second as the laps clicked.
