GASTONIA, N.C. – WIX Filters is building on almost 60 years of support for professional racing by announcing a multi-tier partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) teams for the 2026 season.

As the official filter for JGR, WIX Filters will be featured as the primary sponsor of Chase Briscoe’s No. 19 Toyota Camry XSE at the first Cup Series points race in 30 years at North Wilkesboro Speedway on July 19.

WIX Filters will also be featured on the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra for the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 14 with Chase Briscoe behind the wheel and at Watkins Glen International on May 9 with rising NASCAR star Brent Crews.

WIX Filters will unveil primary paint schemes, as well as designs for driver and pit crew fire suits, prior to the Las Vegas and North Wilkesboro weekends.

Briscoe had the best season of his five-year Cup Series career in 2025 with three wins, 15 top-five finishes, 19 top 10s, seven pole awards, and 884 laps led. He earned his way into the Championship 4 with his victory at Talladega Superspeedway and finished third in the final standings. Briscoe won back-to-back Southern 500 races at Darlington in 2024 and 2025 and earned poles at three of the four 2025 crown jewel races: the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600 and Brickyard 400.

Crews raced for JGR in the ARCA Menards Series (AMS) competition during the 2025 season. After winning his AMS debut at Phoenix in February, the North Carolina native has racked up five victories and six poles in nine starts for JGR across ARCA’s three platforms. He also drove a part-time schedule in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series last year, earning two top-five finishes and three top-10s while leading more than 100 laps across 10 starts.

Mazda MX-5 Cup Rookie education continues for PT Autosport’s Stallone

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 4, 2026) – PT Autosport and Wheels America Racing’s Max Stallone powered through a second character-building event in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Michelin this weekend, earning solid finishes in the highly competitive 40-car field.

After an engine issue sidelined him during qualifying, Stallone started at the back of the field in both 45-minute races. But the 19-year-old Austin, Texas native battled back, gaining valuable insight as his rookie season progresses.

Early in Friday’s lone practice, Stallone was laying down lap times close to the leaders. But midway through the session, he came into pit lane with an issue that turned out to be a snapped belt, which had caused the engine to overheat, necessitating a complete engine change – meaning Stallone would miss qualifying entirely.

“Based on who I was running with and where they finished in qualifying, I know that I have the pace to be right at the front,” said Stallone. “I’ll have to fight from the back in both races, but the expected rain for race one might be a little curveball for everyone.”

Stallone proved to be prophetic, as significant overnight rain and cool, cloudy skies brought very damp conditions for the 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning start and sent the field into race one on Michelin rain tires. Starting at the back of the field, Stallone passed seven cars on lap one, but a caution came out at the end of the lap with a car in the wall in turn one.

The front straight remained quite slick, with Stallone feeling that the combination of years of plane rubber and the dampness meant “the car wanted to do a 360 if you get on the paint under braking” (referring to the painted lines on the converted runway). The race returned to green but only briefly, as Stallone’s teammate Logan Stretch slid over a wet curb and ended up in the wall.

Two more yellows late in the race further reduced the green flag running time, but Stallone kept pushing – with “tempered aggression” – and came home P17. But for Stallone and the team, finishing in the top 20 with an undamaged car in his and the team’s first St. Pete outing felt like a win.

“It was weird mixed conditions,” said Stallone. “The track was starting to dry but was still very damp and had some puddles in spots. As it dried a bit, it was all about managing the tires, especially towards the end of the race as they started to get hot. But honestly, the paint might have been the hardest thing to manage – because there are all kinds of painted areas, like crosswalks and lane lines, it was so slick. Combine that with the nature of the street course where any mistake puts you in a wall and potentially totals the car, there were definitely some sketch moments. I managed to keep my nose clean and keep everything under control, taking advantage of other drivers going off and making good passes. In the end, it really was a ton of fun. “

Sunday’s race two took place after the INDYCAR race, with the track exposed to different race tires across the event weekend, including the NASCAR Truck Series.

Stallone took the green flag in 39th position and immediately went in a charge, making smart passes to reach P22 by turn five – until an incident behind him brought out the yellow flag. Restarting with 30 minutes remaining, Stallone began experiencing overheating issues that required he pull out of line on the front straight to cool the engine, and with a resulting power drop that put him into conservation mode. Short shifting and finding clean air, he held his position until a pair of late cautions ended the race under yellow, with Stallone P20.

“I had a really good first lap, the lane just opened really well for me,” said Stallone. “I probably passed 10 or 15 cars. But then halfway through lap two, the temperature gauge started flashing red and the power went down. It really was a shame because the car felt good. The team worked really, really hard last night to put together a good setup that was going to be able to do something like that. But we know the pace is there, we just need a race where it all comes together – and a little bit of luck wouldn’t hurt.”

PT Autosport team principal Jason Myers was once again impressed with Stallone’s ability to bounce back from adversity – though it will be a few months before he’ll be able to display his talents in the MX-5 car.

“Max showed some great strengths and driving talent in both races this weekend, making a strong drive through the fields on both occasions,” said Myers.” His ability to navigate through traffic and put some really nice laps down is definitely there. We’re feeling confident as we head into this long break until our next race at Mid-Ohio in June, though we do have some testing opportunities between now and then. I think the coming races will really show the performance of the car and Max’s capabilities.”

Next up for the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Michelin series will be the doubleheader at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course June 5 to 7. Both races will be streamed live on the IMSA and Racer magazine YouTube channels.

NHRA announced today the commemorative tickets for the first five races have been released, honoring legends Kenny Bernstein (Gainesville and Pomona), Don Prudhomme (Phoenix), current Funny Car star Matt Hagan (Charlotte) and Don Garlits (Valdosta, Ga). The collector’s item offers another opportunity to celebrate 75 years of NHRA Drag Racing and the special moments – and incredible drivers – that have filled the past seven-plus decades.

The next group of tickets will be released for events in Chicago, Maryland, Epping, Bristol and Norwalk in the coming weeks, featuring a new group of legends and current standouts. The special ticket for the first five races will include these NHRA legends:

  • Gainesville: Kenny Bernstein will be the featured driver and moment, as the legendary multi-time champ had one of the sport’s most memorable runs with his 300-mph pass in 1992 at the famed facility. The commemorative ticket will honor Bernstein and that history-making moment.
  • Phoenix: Don “The Snake” Prudhomme will be on the collector’s ticket in Phoenix at the FMP NHRA Arizona Nationals presented by NGK Spark Plugs, as NHRA will honor the career and legacy of Prudhomme, one of the greatest and most influential drivers in NHRA history.
  • Pomona 1: At the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, Bernstein will be the featured ticket. The Top Fuel and Funny Car standout broke the 310-mph barrier at the 1994 event at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, another celebrated moment in his spectacular career.

  • Valdosta: The legendary Don Garlits will be the honored driver as NHRA makes its debut at South Georgia Motorsports Park with the return of the NHRA Southern Nationals. PLANO, Texas (March 4, 2026) – NASCAR, along with the ARCA Menards Series, head out to Phoenix Raceway for the first of two trips this season. The weekend in the desert culminates with a 312-lap race for the Cup Series on Sunday.

NASCAR National Series – NCS/NOAPS

Reddick continues historic start … After a dominating performance at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) last Sunday, Tyler Reddick earned his third consecutive victory to begin the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season, becoming the first driver in series history to accomplish such a feat. The triumph also made Reddick the second driver in the Next Gen era to win three straight races, joining Toyota teammate Christopher Bell, who did such last season. Reddick’s historic start to the season now has him leading the Cup Series points standings by 70 points over 23XI Racing teammate, Bubba Wallace. Reddick has also led 112 laps through these three races, 26 more than Wallace, who sits second in that statistical category.

Toyota seeks to match win streak milestone … With Reddick’s three straight wins to start the season, Toyota now sits just one win away from matching its consecutive victory streak record of four, which it has accomplished in four separate occasions in the Cup Series. The last time Toyota captured four straight victories was in 2017 where former Toyota drivers, Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch, each captured two wins in the stretch – Truex at Chicagoland Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway and Busch at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Dover Motor Speedway. The two wins Truex captured in that stretch were among his eight victories in what became his championship-winning season.

Bell seeks Phoenix spring three-peat … Bell returns to Phoenix Raceway looking for his third consecutive win in the spring race after terrific performances the last two seasons. In 2024, the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) driver led 50 laps on the way to victory and then followed it up by leading 105 of the 312 laps last season in a dominant win. The one-mile short oval has been one of Bell’s best tracks on his Cup Series career, with three top-fives and seven top-10s, along with those two victories, in 12 previous starts.

Jones, Gray look to continue strong Phoenix runs … JGR teammates in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Brandon Jones and Taylor Gray return to Phoenix in search of continued strong runs at the short oval. Jones comes into the weekend with a top-10 finish in three of the last four Phoenix races, as well as two consecutive top-fives. He owns a total of nine top-10s and five top fives, along with a win in 2020, in 20 previous starts at Phoenix. For Gray, he earned two top-10 finishes in his first two career starts at Phoenix last season, a sixth-place result in the spring race and a seventh finishing position in the season finale back in November.

Crews looks to build on debut … After leading five laps and finishing sixth at COTA last weekend in his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut, Brent Crews comes to Phoenix Raceway looking to continue that momentum, as he once again pilots the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra for JGR. At 17-years-and-11-months-old, the Toyota Development Driver became the youngest O’Reilly Series driver to lead laps since 1998 when he was out front at COTA last Saturday. He returns to Phoenix Raceway one year after capturing victory in his only ARCA Menards Series start at the one-mile oval, where he led all 165 laps from pole position to take home the checkered flag.

NASCAR Regional Series – ARCA Menards Series

Strong entries for Toyota in Phoenix … Team Toyota will field a strong set of entries for this weekend’s ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series West race at Phoenix Raceway, as the manufacturer searches for their third consecutive ARCA win in Phoenix and seventh in the last 10 races. Max Reaves rejoins JGR and the No. 18 Toyota Camry for his first ARCA start in 2026 after capturing three victories in both the national and East series last season. Nitro Motorsports will have three Toyota Development Drivers, Thomas Annunziata, Jade Avedisian and Isabella Robusto among their six entries on Thursday night, each seeking their first win of the year.

Demco’s history begins with Robert Dethmers, who started as a blacksmith and later ran an Allis Chalmers dealership with his father. In 1958, he sold the business and shifted to building agricultural equipment.

By 1964, he founded Dethmers Manufacturing Company (Demco). After his passing in 1974, Jim Koerselman and Ken Mulder took over ownership.

In the 1980s, during the Farm Crisis, Demco diversified by creating the Kar Kaddy, which saved the company.

Over the years, Demco expanded further by acquiring companies like Maurer Manufacturing and adding new products, including 5th-wheel hitches and braking systems.

Today, Demco remains family-owned and is led by Bob Koerselman, Kevin Ten Haken and James Koerselman.

The NASCAR Cup Series headlines the weekend Sunday afternoon with the running of the Straight Talk Wireless 500.

● Year Three, Driven Forward: Young’s Motorsports continues its campaign in the newly rebranded NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, aiming to make an immediate impact with its second full-time entry, continuing this weekend at Phoenix Raceway.

Fan-favorite Nathan Byrd returns to the organization and will pilot the No. 42 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro in the fourth of 33 races on the 2026 schedule.

● About Nathan: Byrd, 26, began racing go-karts in 2018, just after graduating High School, and he entered his first car race in February 2020.

Since then, the Goodyear, Ariz. native has raced over 30 types of cars in 348 total races at 67 different race tracks, effectively becoming one of the most diverse and interesting race car drivers in the world.

Completing more than 300 races in the first four years of his career, Byrd is no stranger to piloting race cars.

In 2024, the Indianapolis, Ind. resident turned his attention to NASCAR. He successfully made his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut at Portland International Raceway and delivered a respectable 21st-place finish for DGM Racing.

In September 2024, Byrd made his NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series debut at Kansas Speedway, earning a respectable 19th-place finish after starting 32nd.

Last year, Byrd continued his foray into the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, making 15 starts for Young’s Motorsports. His campaign was highlighted by three top-15 finishes, including a career-best 14th-place result in back-to-back races at Rockingham Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway, respectively.

Byrd’s most recent NASCAR national series start came under the lights at Phoenix Raceway on October 31, 2025 — a Halloween night showdown in the desert.

● Nathan Byrd O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Phoenix Raceway Stats: Saturday night’s first of two 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series trips to Avondale, Ariz., will mark Byrd’s inaugural start in the series in the Grand Canyon State.

However, Byrd did make his Phoenix Raceway debut last Halloween, in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, qualifying his No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado RST on speed and using the season finale to methodically work his way through the field to earn a solid 15th-place finish in the extended 161-lap contest.

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series returns to action Saturday, March 7, for the fourth race of the 2026 season at Phoenix Raceway.

The one-mile desert oval in Avondale presents a unique challenge for teams as they navigate progressive banking, tight corners and the importance of track position on one of the most strategic short tracks on the schedule.

The weekend marks a quadruple-header of competition at Phoenix, beginning with the ARCA Menards Series on Thursday night. The NTT INDYCAR SERIES takes center stage Saturday afternoon, followed by the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series under the lights Saturday night.

The NASCAR Cup Series headlines the weekend Sunday afternoon with the running of the Straight Talk Wireless 500.

Nathan Byrd will pilot the No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet in his first NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series start of the 2026 season this weekend, aiming to capitalize on prior experience at Phoenix Raceway and deliver a competitive performance for the Mooresville, N.C.-based organization.

With one of NASCAR’s premier short-track venues on deck, Saturday night presents Byrd with an opportunity to continue building his national series résumé while contributing to Young’s Motorsports’ continued presence on the national stage.

● Young’s Motorsports’ NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at Phoenix Raceway: This weekend will mark Young’s Motorsports’ fifth start in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway.

In the organization’s four previous races, the team has earned a track-best 11th-place finish during the 2024 edition of the Call 811.com Every Dig. Every Time. 200, with rookie driver Leland Honeyman Jr. behind the wheel.

In Phoenix, the organization’s four previous starts have resulted in an average starting position of 25.5 and an average finish of 24.3.

Beyond its O’Reilly Auto Parts Series efforts, the team has made 21 starts at Phoenix in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series since 2014, producing a 23.6 average finish.
