Hot 20 – Dover seats nearly 30,000 fewer fans and now NASCAR wants to reduce the pit crews

I hate change. Even good change can take a while to be appreciated. I did not like the Chase when it came out. I do now. I am still perturbed brand names like Firecracker 400 and World 600 were kicked to the curb to make a sponsor happy who obviously had no appreciation for the traditions of the sport. Then again, neither does NASCAR.

The Final Word – As we await the next great announcer, 16 will soon become 12 after Dover

Mistakes. They happen. You just have to learn to overcome them, hopefully not to be repeated. On Sunday I made a mistake, and I know that it will never happen again.

Hot 20 – As they head to Loudon, a half-billion dollar lawsuit leaves me very confused

Nothing like a good old-fashioned hand out to make people feel good. Terrence Cox III and his Diversity Motorsports wants in. They are suing NASCAR, the tracks, even the other teams, in a racial discrimination lawsuit for half a billion dollars.

Hot 20 – Mr. Hamlin, what races do you suggest we remove, reduce, or reschedule?

As NASCAR swings into Chicago and begins the Chase, I can not help but notice that Denny Hamlin, and now Danica Patrick, have made mention that the season is too long. Reduce some races in length, reduce some altogether, run some mid-week are among their suggestions.

The View From My Recliner — 2016 Chase Preview

As we head to Chicagoland, you have to wonder if there are paybacks in the future. Will Newman wreck Stewart? Will Cole Custer get revenge on John Hunter Nemechek for the injustice he was victim to at Canadian Motorsports Park?

The Final Word at Richmond Belonged to Tony Stewart

Drama, that is what we were waiting for at Richmond on Saturday night. Drama and answers. We wanted to know if Chris Buescher would be close enough to David Ragan and 30th in the standings in order to be eligible for the chase?

The 2016 Chase For The Sprint Cup, Seeds 16-13

McMurray hasn’t had a lot of raw firepower- just one top five and nine top 10s are the worst in the Chase save for Chris Buescher. What he has had, however, has been consistency. Only five times has McMurray finished outside of the top 20, he has 19 lead lap finishes out of 26 starts, and his lone DNF was in a multi-car wreck at Daytona.

Austin Dillon Takes XFINITY Pole at Richmond

Austin Dillon will lead the field to the green flag in tonight's XFINITY race in the capital of Virginia. The driver of the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet scored the pole for the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Richmond International Raceway after posting a time of 22.563 and a speed of 119.665 mph.

When asked to rate his season on a scale of 1 to 10, Austin Dillon gave himself a 6.5/10. Speaking to the media earlier this afternoon at Richmond International Raceway, Dillon was asked to rate his season on a scale of 1 to 10.
