Kentucky Speedway announced today that it will undergo its first-ever resurfacing in its 17-year history. In addition to repaving the entire 1.5-mile intermediate track, they will increase the banking in Turns 1 and 2 from 14 to 17 degrees, narrow the width of the turns from 74 to 56-feet, improve drainage and add over 3,000 feet of SAFER barrier.

Marvin Panch, 89, passed away on Thursday per the Daytona Beach News Journal. Panch, a 17-time race winner in what is now known as the NASCAR Sprint Cup series, was known in NASCAR lore for two different Daytona 500 results.
Judy Allison, wife of NASCAR Hall of Famer Bobby Allison, died Friday following complications from surgery, the Allison family announced. She was 74. The Allisons released a statement Friday night: "The Allison Family is sad to announce the passing of Judy A. Allison, age 74, after complications from surgery earlier today at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.
Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 18 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion, had successful surgery this morning to remove two metal plates in his left foot and a metal rod and screws in his right leg.
Tommy Baldwin Racing has announced that Nikko RC/Toy State will become the majority sponsor of driver Alex Bowman and his No. 7 Chevrolet team for the 2016 season. Announced Tuesday at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, team owner Tommy Baldwin was joined on stage by Toy State President Andy Friess and driver Alex Bowman.

The 2015 season is over and Kyle Busch is the champion for this year. It was a tremendous fête, missing 11 races and still winning five races and coming home the champ. Congratulations to Kyle, but something very troubling is going on in the sport. It’s almost like we turned back the clock to 2006.
