The STP Brand Kicks-Off 60th Anniversary Celebration At Martinsville Speedway

DANBURY, Conn. (March 18, 2014) – STP®, one of the most recognized brands in motorsports history, has begun its 60th anniversary celebration as it prepares for the STP 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on March 30th at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.

“Motorsports has been such an integral part of the STP® brand and its success that we wanted to share our celebration with the racing community,” said Jamie Kistner, STP® brand manager. “This is our second year hosting the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Martinsville, but this year we’re doing it bigger and with more gusto. This race season is all about a celebration and there’s no better time to start than with the STP 500 at Martinsville.”

STP has partnered with Martinsville, NASCAR’s most historic track, to offer fans a 60th anniversary ticket package available through Sunday, March 23rd. The $60 anniversary ticket package includes a ticket for seating in the Richard Petty Tower and a Pre-Race Track Pass allowing fans to walk along the frontstretch, view the starting grid and sign the start/finish line. STP’s 60th Anniversary tickets can be purchased here.

Fans can also register through April 28th for a chance to win a custom, one-of-a-kind 2014 Mustang in the STP 0 to 60 Petty Mustang Giveaway Sweepstakes at www.facebook.com/STP. The Mustang, signed by NASCAR’s winningest driver, Richard Petty, will be on display throughout the race weekend at the STP display in Martinsville Speedway’s fan zone and will also pace several laps around the track prior to Sunday’s race.

The celebration continues throughout the STP 500 race weekend, allowing fans to join in the festivities:

Martinsville Speedway will rename its iconic loaded hot dog during the STP 500 race weekend. Fans can get their Martinsville hot dog “STP Style,” with all the additives – slaw, chili, mustard and onions.

On race day, the STP® Ultra 5-in-1 Pit Stop will be unveiled at the speedway’s main entrance off of Highway 220 and adjacent to the Martinsville Speedway digital sign. From 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. ET, the STP Ultra 5-in-1 Pit Stop will reward select fans entering the track with a vehicle upgrade, as well as a complete race day experience upgrade! Cars that are selected to enter the pit stop will receive a five-point inspection, including the addition of STP® Ultra 5-in-1, the brand’s newest and most advanced formula to date.

STP will offer a special gift for race fans also celebrating their 60th birthday in 2014. Fans who visit the STP display at Martinsville Speedway on race day will receive their birthday souvenir.

The celebration will last throughout the 2014 race season on STP’s Facebook page and on @STPRacing on Twitter, with prizes, photo galleries, videos, question and answer sessions and more.
