EARNHARDT LISTENS CLOSE TO ADVICE FROM VETERANS
(MOORESVILLE, NC) The #1 Fuel Doctor Chevy team veteran crew chief Joe Lax is giving Jeffrey Earnhardt advice as the team prepares to take to the track at Darlington Raceway this Saturday March 12th, 2011. Darlington is a track that Earnhardt has only seen and not yet had the opportunity to drive on. Jeffrey is listening close to the advice of many of the sports veterans which all has the same ring to it; “drive your own race and concentrate on your line not theirs.” Crew chief Joe Lax comments with “I love that track, as he refers to Darlington, and I am looking forward to helping Jeffrey out there”.
The advice he is receiving is paying off as Earnhardt tries to keep his goals within reach each race. “I am definitely not in denial about how tough this NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition is and just how tough some of these tracks really are to drive. Some are harder on drivers than others and some are really tough on dialing in the truck setup”. said Earnhardt. “My goals are to log laps, learn the tracks, stay out of trouble and finish each race. I can’t do that if I go out there and try to push the limits of what I don’t know about these tracks. Last year I didn’t have much direction in the sense of coaching and now I am fortunate to have a group of guys all of whom are giving me great advice, and helping my learning curve. I am just keeping focused on the goals our team has and hopefully bring home respectable finishes”.
Earnhardt received a career high finish at Daytona this year taking the checkered flag in the seventh position while receiving a respectable 19th place finish at Phoenix two weeks ago. Earnhardt will be entering the race this week in the 7th position in driver points, just 9 points behind leader Matt Crafton. Earnhardt will be sporting the Fuel Doctor USA colors again this weekend for the 147 lap NCWTS Too Tough To Tame 200 at Darlington Raceway airing live on SPEED @ 5pm EST.
