Fastest Fan Will Win a Toyota Camry at the Coca-Cola 600

CONCORD, N.C. (March 23, 2011) – One lucky race fan will cruise home in a new ride after the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day Weekend, courtesy of Charlotte Motor Speedway and Toyota Motor Corp. Now until May 22, fans can text CC600 to 69050 to be automatically entered in a contest to win a 2011 Toyota Camry on race day.

Fifty-two contestants, in honor of the 52nd running of the Coca-Cola 600, will be randomly selected from those who enter to participate in a special competition on the morning of the May 29 Coca-Cola 600 at the Toyota Pit Pass display. The competitors will be timed as they pack a Camry for race day with a cooler full of Coca-Cola, grill, charcoal and groceries; put on their Toyota Racing gear; jump in the driver’s seat and start the engine. The four contestants with the fastest times will compete again, this time as part of pre-race ceremonies prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. The fan with the fastest time will win the car.

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota, announced the contest Tuesday night on SPEED’s “NASCAR Race Hub” television program by giving a demonstration of what the 52 finalists will have to do. He and show host Steve Byrnes packed a car with the race-day essentials and competed to see who had the fastest time. Logano won by nearly 10 seconds.

“This is a great opportunity for some fans to have a lot of fun with Toyota, Coca-Cola and Charlotte Motor Speedway,” said Logano.

“You’ve got to be quick though, it takes a lot of skill to pack a car that fast.”

Fans in the Charlotte, N.C., area can keep an eye out for specially wrapped Charlotte Motor Speedway Toyota Camrys with the text-to-win information. Each person who sends a text will also receive a special ticket offer. Complete contest rules can be found at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.

Tickets are still available for the Coca-Cola 600 and the May 21 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. Frontstretch tickets with the best views of pit road and the world’s largest HD video board, coming to the speedway in May, start at just $49 for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race or two for just $99 to the Coca-Cola 600.
