Live Entertainment, Four On-Track Activities for the Price of One Ticket
For the price of one ticket to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on May 21 fans can enjoy the Dierks Bently concert presented by Budweiser in the infield, the Pennzoil Ultra Victory Challenge burnout contest, the Sprint Showdown, the debut of the world’s largest high definition television, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race and the Julie Roberts post-race concert with the chance to walk on the track. Even before the on-track action heats-up, fans can enjoy plenty of other activities outside the track, including the Powerade Play Zone for kids, speedway and race shop tours and much more. Fans Can Wave the Green Flag for All-Star Qualifying
During NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race qualifying on May 20, Charlotte Motor Speedway officials will randomly select fans in attendance to wave the green flag for each competitor attempting to qualify. Qualifying is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on May 20.
Deep-Fried Peaches, New Kids Menu Available from Levy Restaurants
May race attendees will get a true southern treat with a twist with an order of deep-fried peaches at the Levy Restaurants concession stands throughout the speedway. The peaches are sliced, dipped in batter, rolled in a cornflake crumb topping, then fried and served with a cinnamon-vanilla dipping sauce. Several other southern-inspired treats will also be on the Levy menu, including a “bologna-q,” sandwich (deep-fried strips of bologna, smothered in bar-be-cue sauce and topped with a pickled onion mustard slaw) and “lug nuts” mac and cheese balls (pimento mac and cheese balls mixed with bacon, coated and deep fried). Levy Restaurants will also offer a new kids menu in the Family Seating Section with smaller-size hot dogs and hamburgers, as well as new beverages for the adults and new sweet treats including funnel cakes and little donuts at its main concession stands.
Kahne Part of ‘PRN Up To SPEED’ at the SPEED Stage
“PRN Up To SPEED” returns for the third year to Charlotte Motor Speedway. The popular free fan forum takes place at the SPEED stage, located at the speedway’s main entrance, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., prior to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on May 21. Several NASCAR stars, including Kasey Kahne, are scheduled to join personalities from the Performance Racing Network for the 30 minute Q&A session.
Plenty of Entertainment Options for Fans in Interactive Display Area Fans coming to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the May 21 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will have plenty of entertainment options right outside the track in the display areas. Toyota will host a hospitality area for any fan that has a Toyota key, NOS will offer an interactive area where fans can try their hand with Traxxas remote control cars and sunglass-maker Oakley will be on site with their O Labs where fans can purchase Oakley products. Fans will find plenty of food and beverage options as well and there will continue to be plenty of souvenir trailers in the display areas, so fans can buy their favorite driver’s gear at the track.
CATS Route Provides Easy Access to Speedway The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), the City of Concord and Charlotte Motor Speedway have partnered to bring race day bus service from Center City Charlotte to the track. Starting from the Charlotte Transportation Center, race fans can take the 79X Concord Mills Express to beat the traffic and enjoy the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race and the Coca-Cola 600 on May 29 at the speedway for just $7 round-trip. The route will run every 20 minutes from noon to 6:00 p.m. on May 21 and May 29. Return trips will begin immediately after the checkered flag as race fans make their way to the buses near the track’s main entrance. Passengers may bring small coolers that fit on their laps but no eating or drinking is permitted on the bus. Traffic Information Available on 91.1 FM Race fans will be able to tune into 91.1 FM for up-to-date traffic information following Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. Charlotte Motor Speedway will broadcast traffic exit updates on that frequency to inform fans of any traffic concerns around the speedway.
Nearly $14 Million Up For Grabs at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers will battle for a purse totaling nearly $5 million during the 27th running of the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 21. The posted prize money of $3,195,839 will be added to $1,780,853 in television awards, which are distributed through the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Car/Champion Owner Program. The overall posted awards for the track’s schedule of May events is $13,617,504. Nine events will be run at Charlotte Motor Speedway and The Dirt Track at Charlotte between Friday night, May 20, and Sunday night, May 29.
