ACHILLES HEEL: Kansas Speedway is one of only two tracks on the current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule at which Timothy Peters has yet to score a top 10.  In Peter’s’ three starts at the 1.5-mile speedway he has earned 19th, 24th, 23rd place finishes respectively.  Other than Phoenix International Raceway, the 30-year old Danville, Virginia native has scored at least one top-10 at each remaining track on the Truck Series schedule.

MAKING MEMORIES: This weekend at Kansas Speedway the Truck Series celebrates their 400th race.  Peters has participated in 100 of those race events earning a total of five poles,  two wins, 12 top-five and 37 top-10 finishes throughout his seven year Truck Series career.

REACHING OUT TO THOSE IN NEED: This weekend, Kansas Speedway is partnering with Harvesters – The Community Food Network on their BackSnack program, an initiative that provides food to low income students in a 26-county area who are in danger of going hungry on the weekend.  On Thursday June 2nd, Peters will travel to a local Wyandotte County school to hand out backpacks with nutritious food options inside to approximately 75 students.  In turn, Kansas Speedway will be asking fans who come to the track to watch Truck Series practice on Friday to give a monetary donation to the Harvesters group who fund the program which aides thousands of hungry children each year.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 17 team will utilize chassis No. 103 this weekend at Kansas Speedway.   Chassis No. 103 last competed earlier this season at Phoenix International Speedway, where Peters and the No. 17 team earned a 12th-place finish

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Two weeks ago at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Peters claimed his first pole of the season as he celebrated his 100th Truck Series start. Peters led a total of 30 laps before an on track incident on lap 61 ended the night for the No. 17 team.

Timothy Peters Talks about Kansas Speedway   Kansas Speedway seems to be your Achilles heel, why is that? “Last year we had a really good run going.  We had been in the top-five all day but a mechanical issue late in the race had us on and off of pit road.  I’m not sure why Kansas has been such a hard track for me to wrap my arms around.  I feel really confident heading into this weekend’s race.  I feel like we have a good package and will run really well.”

Red Horse Racing has yet to score a 1.5-mile speedway win.  Last weekend at Charlotte the No. 17 team had a strong run.   Are you happy with the progress Red Horse Racing has made with their 1.5-mile program? “I really do think we have hit on something.  Everything went well at Charlotte and I feel like we learned a lot of things that we can transfer not only to our Kansas truck, but to everything else we will be doing now to the rest of the season. ”
