Jeffrey Earnhardt’s 2011 season started with a top 10 finish at Daytona in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series. Now the 4th generation driver of the Earnhardt family will try to duplicate that feat in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the running of the Subway Jalapeno 250 on Friday night.
Earnhardt will pilot the #41 Fastwax.com Chevy in his first Nationwide Series event at the track that has had great success for his family and scored Jeffrey his career high thus far in his young career.
“I am really excited to race the Fastwax.com Chevy at Daytona for RWR,” stated Earnhardt. “This will be my third race on the newly paved surface at Daytona for 2011. I can’t thank Fastwax.com enough. They have been by my side since 2009 and that means a lot in this industry. Their effort along with RWR to continue to put me behind the wheel is a blessing and I am looking forward to giving them a great run Friday night.”
Earnhardt made his 2011 Nationwide Series debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway but a failed rear end gear cut his day short after moving through the field early in the event. This weekend, Jeffrey looks to show his strength at the high banks of Daytona with his new relationship with the Arena Football League’s New Orleans Voodoo with special guests from their fan base.
“I got the opportunity to meet the great folks in New Orleans last month at the AFL Voodoo game. To experience an Arena Football game was exciting and full of action. Now we get to cross over the AFL fans into NASCAR and have their fans experience the excitement of NASCAR and the action we can provide.”
The NASCAR Nationwide Series action begins on Thursday at 2:30 and 5:30 with practice for the Subway Jalapeno 250. Qualifying is set for Friday at 2:10 and the green flag drops at 7:30pm on ESPN.
