Andy Lally Heads to Kentucky Looking Forward to a ‘Cool’ Weekend

Mooresville, NC (July 6, 2011) – Andy Lally is geared up for this weekend’s Quaker State 400, which will mark the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ inaugural race at Kentucky Speedway. Lally is coming off a great weekend at the Daytona race, in which he qualified seventh in the No.71 Interstate Moving Services Ford Fusion.

Lally said, “Daytona was a good weekend for our team. We posted our best qualifying effort of the year. I got to work with Terry Labonte and Geoff Bodine, two legends of our sport that I grew up watching as a kid. It was also pretty cool to get a compliment from a veteran driver like Terry Labonte after the race. Kentucky is the first mile and a half track we’ve been at in about a month. I think our overall program has gotten a lot better in the past month, so I’m looking forward to seeing how we are when we unload this weekend.”

Crew chief Doug Richert is pleased with the team’s recent improvements. “We had a good qualifying run last weekend at Daytona. I think that was a huge morale boost for our whole team. It showed the improvements we’ve been working on and the strides our program has taken towards being a competitive effort.”

Team owner Kevin Buckler is both optimistic about the team’s recent performance and excited to be part of history “Daytona was good for us. We didn’t quite get the finish we wanted, but were strong throughout the weekend. I’m excited for TRG Motorsports to be part of history this weekend as we will compete in the inaugural race at Kentucky Speedway. I’m also happy to welcome Cool Works Cup as a new sponsor for TRG Motorsports, they make some very “cool” coolers for the NASCAR fan community and I’m really glad to have them on board”.

This weekend TRG Motorsports welcomes Cool Works Cup, a new primary sponsor for the #71 car. Cool Works Cup ), an officially licensed product of NASCAR, manufactures high quality coolers for fans so they can have just another way to support their favorite team or driver. These coolers have been built for convenience and are easy to carry, as well as having multiple capacities and custom graphics made available.

Kentucky Speedway opened in 2000 and has hosted multiple race weekends each year, including the IndyCar Series, Nationwide Series, and Camping World Trucks Series. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will make history this weekend when the green flag drops for the series’ inaugural race.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400 in Sparta, Kentucky can be viewed live on TNT starting at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 9. The race can be heard on affiliated Performance Racing Network (PRN) stations and Sirius XM Satellite Radio 90. Qualifying can be seen on the SPEED Channel starting at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, July 8.
