Isabelle Tremblay Never Gives Up

TOUGH NIGHT FOR ISABELLE TREMBLAY, BUT SHE NEVER GIVES UP!

July 24, 2011. Isabelle Tremblay from St. Hippolyte, Quebec arrived at Motoplex Speedway for round number six of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series ready to tackle the ½ mile track set in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. Tremblay appeared to be on her way to a successful night in the #07 Group Beton Brunet/ADF Diesel Ford when an unfortunate bit of racing luck hit and ended her night early.

During the afternoon practice session Tremblay and the #07 Group Beton Brunet/ADF Diesel Ford team worked and improved the car substantially. “When the session began the car was a little bit difficult to drive” said Tremblay. “But at the end of the session it was improving and I was making much quick lap times” she added.

Qualifying was somewhat disappointing as well and Tremblay would line up on the outside of row nine for the 300 lap main event. “I didn’t have the qualifying speed I expected but we expected to have a better car during the race” explained Tremblay.

As the green flag waved Tremblay again found the #07 Group Beton Brunet/ADF Diesel Ford difficult to handle in traffic. “I think the track was changing and the car wasn’t quite right in the beginning” said Tremblay. But we made a pit stop and the crew made some very good changes and then the car was much better” she added.

With a noticeably better handling race car Tremblay began to run the #07 Group Beton Brunet/ADF Diesel Ford at a much better speed. “Our lap times were getting better and better. We were improving and our lap times were right there with some of the top few cars” said Tremblay. “We wanted to keep going and keep getting better since there was still a lot of time left in the race” she added.

The #07 Group Beton Brunet/ADF Diesel Ford team completed scheduled pit stops for fuel and service and were poised to make even more progress in the final third of the race when an unfortunate set of circumstances took place. Tremblay was proceeding into corner one when the car got loose and spun out from her control and into the outside wall. “I may have got into the tire marbles a little bit and the team told me that one of the other cars may have put down some liquid on track that caused me to spin” Tremblay described.

The damage to the rear of the #07 Group Beton Brunet/ADF Diesel Ford was too severe to repair before the end of the race and Tremblay was finished for the evening. “It’s a shame we had some bad luck” said the driver. “The team did a really good job making the car better and we were definitely making progress in the race. We learned a lot here and I think we’ll be able to use a lot of what we learned in a few days in Saskatoon. This is a very strong team and we refuse to give up” she added.

Isabelle Tremblay will next race during the second leg of the western swing in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, Wednesday, July 27th at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway in Saskatoon, SK.

During the 2011 racing season Isabelle Tremblay will compete in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, the ANCA Sportsman Series at the Autodrome St. Eustache and the F1600 Series. This kind of large-scale racing program schedule would not be possible without the impressive support of many partners for which Isabelle is extremely grateful. Isabelle Tremblay’s ANCA Sportsman Series efforts are backed by Insulation Ippersiel, Canadian Tire St. Jerome, La Pizzeria Etc and DB Imaging. The NASCAR Canadian Tire series program is made possible with support from Group Beton Brunet and ADF Diesel. Her Formula 1600 Tour receives backing from Furniture World Salotti.
