SS Green Light Racing Ready for Atlanta

With sixteen races down and nine to go, David Starr is holding steady in eleventh place in the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points standings, but that is not where the team hopes to be when the season closes in Miami in November. Starr and the SS Green Light Racing team are looking forward to making the move into the top-ten in Friday night at the Atlanta Motor Speedway; one of the fastest tracks the series visits each season.

The familiar black and green colors of Zachry will return to the No. 81 Toyota Tundra for the Atlanta 200. The Texas based-company will have a large contingent of employees visiting the track to support Starr and the SS Green Light Racing team.

“Coming off a solid run last week at Bristol even though we finished eleventh there were some circumstances that knocked us from a top-ten run; the 3 truck ran out of gas and we lost about three spots, and our AdvoCare Tundra bounced off the wall coming to the white and I raced Parker Klingerman in the 29 truck hard and he was able to get that tenth spot from us,” explained Starr. “We gave it all we had, it was not a bad run and we are looking forward to Atlanta this week.”

“Atlanta is always fun for us; you can run all the way to the wall or you can run down on the bottom or in the center of the racetrack so it’s always an exciting race.”   In eleven previous NCWTS races at the 1.5-mile Atlanta Motor Speedway, David’s average start is 18.8 and average finish is 16.5. He has one top-five finish coming in 2005.

“Having Zachry back on the truck this week is really cool because they are bringing a lot of employees to the race and for the team at SS Green Light Racing we are excited to get back to the racetrack and see if we can’t put our Zachry Toyota Tundra back up in the top-five.”   “We need to get us some good finishes so we can jump up there in the points and keep us solidly in the top-ten as we get close to the end of the season and we are really going to focus on some great finishes. It was not a bad run last week, but we are looking to improve on that finish at Atlanta this week. It’s a great racetrack and it’s going to be a fun race.”   The Atlanta 200 is the 262nd consecutive NCWTS start for the SS Green Light Racing team and the 282nd career start for Starr in the Truck Series. David has four victories, 47 top-fives and 114 top-tens through his 14-year career including two top-fives and seven top-tens so far in 2011.

There are 37 trucks on the preliminary entry list for the Atlanta 200.

Practice for the Atlanta 200 will be Friday September 2nd from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. with qualifying at 5:05 p.m. and the green flag will fall on the Atlanta 200 at 8:00 pm. It will be shown live on SPEED TV. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and also Sirius XM NASCAR Radio. All times Eastern.

David will be pulling “double duty” this week in Atlanta and is entered in Sunday’s AdvoCare 500 Sprint Cup race.   Zachry Holdings, Inc.is engaged in the planning, building and renewing of the world’s most critical industrial facilities.
