Harvick to Kick off Chase with Special Budweiser Bowtie Can Paint Scheme

HARVICK KICKS OFF CHASE FOR THE NASCAR SPRINT CUP WITH SPECIAL BUDWEISER BOWTIE CAN PAINT SCHEME

Paint Scheme to Debut in Sept. 18 Chicagoland Race

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 13, 2011) – Budweiser and NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick will celebrate the recent debut of the new Budweiser “Bowtie” can refresh with a special paint scheme for the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 18.

Introduced last month, the new can design is Budweiser’s 12th since Anheuser-Busch began offering its flagship brand in cans in 1936. The focal point of the design is Budweiser’s iconic bowtie, complemented by the time-honored Budweiser creed and Anheuser-Busch medallion. The same elements are prominent on the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet for Sunday’s race.

“Both Budweiser’s packaging and NASCAR sponsorship have evolved to new heights this year with the debut of the new Budweiser can and new Budweiser driver Kevin Harvick racing his way to the top of the point standings heading into the Chase,” said Rob McCarthy, vice president, Budweiser. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate these two milestones than by creating the special Budweiser bowtie can paint scheme to kickoff the Chase at Chicagoland this weekend.”

Harvick enters Sunday’s GEICO 400 at Chicagoland Speedway with four wins, seven top-five and 13 top-10 finishes in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) competition so far this season and is tied at the top of the standings points-wise, but seeded second in the NSCS driver point standings based on NASCAR’s tiebreaker rules.
