JASON BOWLES PULLING DOUBLE DUTY THIS WEEKEND RUNNING IN BOTH THE NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES AND K&N PRO SERIES RACES AT IOWA SPEEDWAY

[media-credit name=”iowaspeedway.com” align=”alignright” width=”198″][/media-credit](MOORESVILLE, NC) May 15, 2012 – Iowa Speedway has always been a track that has treated Jason Bowles very well and this weekend will hopefully bring more of the same.  Bowles will be behind the wheel of his traditional Red, White, and Blue American Majority No. 81 Toyota this Sunday in the Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 for the NASCAR Nationwide Series.  Jason will also race the NASCAR K&N Pro Series Graham Tire 150 on Saturday in the MacDonald Motorsports No. 49.

Jason on Iowa…..“Iowa is a track I’ve been to before and really enjoy. We’ve run strong in the K&N Pro Series car there in the past and I’m really going to lean on that prior experience.  Running both races this weekend will be interesting as well.  I hope the extra laps in the K&N car will help me get the American Majority No. 81 Toyota running up towards the front in the race on Sunday.  It would be awesome to put together two strong runs for everyone back at the MacDonald Motorsports shop.”

K&N Pro Series race…..The 2009 Champion of the series, Jason Bowles will return to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series division this weekend at Iowa Speedway. Jason has five previous starts at the 7/8 mile progressively banked oval in Newton, Iowa in the past recording three top-5’s and four top-10’s.  His best finish there came in 2009 with a 2nd place run.  In total, Bowles has 47 career NASCAR K&N Pro Series starts with 11 wins, 28 top-5’s, and 35 top-10’s.  Not a bad racing resume at all.

Jason’s thoughts on Darlington last week…..“Man that track is just crazy to race on.  Turn one is like nothing I’ve ever seen before on any other track.  We had a strong race car but just started too far back and couldn’t catch the breaks when we needed them.  It was still good to get a decent result and stay 15th in the points.”

Quarter season recap…..The American Majority No. 81 Toyota team is ¼ of the way through the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series season following the race in Darlington last Friday night.  In the nine races run so far, Jason Bowles has three top-20 finishes to his credit.  Jason also has two top-15 qualifying runs including a 10th place starting spot in Las Vegas.  The best finish for the team came at Auto Club Speedway in March with a strong 15th place run.  Bowles has logged 1478 laps for 1773.2 miles thus far this season and earned $220,502.

Meet Jason this weekend…..Bowles will once again be participating in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Autograph session this weekend at Iowa Speedway.  Fans can meet Jason and all the stars from the NNS Saturday at the track from 2:00 – 2:45pm.  Jason will also be signing autographs at Bennigan’s Restaurant in Des Moines, IA connected to the Magnuson Hotel on Saturday night from 7:30 – 8:30pm CST.

Watch the race…..Fans can watch Jason in the Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 this Sunday at 1:30PM EST live on ESPN.
