MICHAEL ANNETT, No. 43 Pilot/Flying J Ford Mustang (Finished 11th)

“We started off the race and made a good call there to come in before the competition caution and we already had our tires and restarted up front there. We came in and got fuel and we hung right there in the top-10 that whole run. The 18 car was just so fast that we went a lap down and had to come in and pit and we just needed to short pit as fast as he was going. We did that and got caught a lap down and didn’t have the car we needed after we were in that lap down position but we kept on working on it. Just like the other week in Iowa, we drove up to the lucky dog but couldn’t get a caution at the end to make any benefits from it.”

WERE THE CAUTIONS A PRODUCT OF THE TRACK TODAY? “I think the biggest thing today was it was hard to pass. That was the biggest thing I noticed more so than the past here. It was probably the most aero sensitive I have seen these cars and I think we saw that yesterday in the truck race with the 2 car being dominant and then looking like a 10th place truck when he got put in the pack. We found that out there today too. We were too loose and came in and tightened it up and got in traffic and were way too tight. We got around the 12 in clean air and I was way too loose but I was way too tight behind him. It was a different Dover aero wise and something we will remember when we come back here later in the year.”

RICKY STENHOUSE JR., No. 6 Cargill Beef Ford Mustang (INVOLVED IN WRECK ON LAP 27)

WHAT HAPPENED? “I just lost it. I wasn’t up on the wheel and just kind of riding around until that competition caution and just got behind on the steering. It was driver error, totally my fault. We will have to go back, take a weekend off and get ‘em at Michigan.”

HOW EASY IS IT FOR SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO HAPPEN HERE? “It is pretty easy actually. Dover is a place you have to attack but you have to respect it. You always have to be up on the wheel and I think I got too relaxed just riding around logging laps. It was just driver error.”

HOW DO YOU BOUNCE BACK FROM THE LAST TWO WEEKS? “It isn’t the two weeks we want. We had a part failure last week and this week is my doing. You will have races like these. You aren’t going to have perfect races every week but we will bounce back from this.”
