DILLON, GAUGHAN, COULTER HIGHLIGHT AUG. 21 NRA SHOOTING STARS TOURNAMENT

BRISTOL, Tenn. (Tuesday, August 7, 2012) — Before Ty Dillon, Brendan Gaughan and Joey Coulter set their sights on a win in the August 22 UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway, they take aim on the targets in the Speedway Children’s Charities Shooting Stars Tournament presented by the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Set for Tuesday, Aug. 21, the NRA Shooting Stars Tournament takes place at Shooter’s Edge Indoor Range and Training Center in Piney Flats, Tenn. The three stars of the Camping World Truck Series will be on hand to shoot with participants at the event.

The second annual event, which benefits the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, is open to shooters of all skill levels. All participants are placed on four-person teams and all have a chance to shoot with Dillon, Gaughan and Coulter.

Entry fee for the tournament is $100 and includes training, use of a 22-caliber handgun, ammunition for 15 themed targets and dinner. Some challenges pit teammates against one another with teams trying to best each other in this skilled match of marksmanship in other exercises. Participants also have the opportunity to shoot a fully automatic weapon.

The tournament begins at 4 p.m. Aug. 21 at Shooter’s Edge, located just a few miles from BMS. Participants may register online at www.bristol.speedwaycharities.org. Anyone interested in a lane sponsorship ($300 or $250 with a team of four) should contact Betsy Holleman at 423-989-6975.

Race week at BMS kicks off with the UNOH 200 Camping World Truck Series race, and the UNOH Perfect Storm 150 Whelen Modified Series event Aug. 22.

The Food City 250 Nationwide Series race takes place Friday night, Aug. 24, followed by the IRWIN Tools Night Race Aug. 25.

Tickets for the IRWIN Tools Night Race start at $75 while tickets for the Food City 250 start at $45. An August race weekend package, which includes a ticket to the IRWIN Tools Night Race and the Food City 250, starts at $110. A doubleheader ticket for Wednesday night’s Camping World Truck Series race and the UNOH Perfect Storm 150 is available for $30.
