Just a minor correction: back in the dawn of NASCAR, 1949,when NASCAR’s only races were called Strictly Stock, Sara Chrisian finised 5th in a 100-mile race on a half-mile flat dirt track in Pensylvania. Technically, this is NASCAR’s best. Mine was the best of the superspeedway era.
