Love Pink…The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) will make its second of two trips to NASCAR’s backyard track of Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS). After a couple weeks off from the NNS, James Buescher will return behind the wheel of a pink No. 30 Great Clips / AccuDoc Solutions Chevrolet Impala for Friday evening’s race under the lights. Buescher has two previous starts at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway, where this past May, Buescher posted a solid seventh-place finish. Buescher’s career average starting position is 18.0 with his average finish bettering that at 17.3.

Twice As Nice… Friday night’s NNS race under the lights at CMS will see two Great Clips Chevrolets on the track vying for the win. In addition to the No. 30 Great Clips Impala, Brad Sweet will be behind the wheel of the No. 38 Great Clips machine, also featuring a pink paint scheme.
Appearing…Buescher will be signing autographs this coming Friday October 12th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm during the NNS driver autograph session at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Previous Race Recap…Two weeks ago, the Turner Motorsports team saw Alex Bowman make his second start behind the wheel of the No. 30, posting a second consecutive top-20 finish for the rookie while with Turner Motorsports. Buescher’s last NNS start came at the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway oval. After battling a loose race car most of the day, Buescher didn’t quit and posted a solid top-15 finish.
This Week’s Impala…The No. 30 team will unload chassis TMS-332 this Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Buescher raced this chassis at Atlanta, when it was a brand new chassis out of the Turner Motorsports stable.

Think Pink! This weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS), the No. 38 Great Clips machine will have a special look in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The traditional red, black and white scheme will replaced with a primarily pink paint scheme in honor of the cause.
Double vision… Friday night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race under the lights at CMS will see two Great Clips Chevrolet Impalas on the track vying for the win. Turner Motorsports’ No. 30 entry to be driven by James Buescher will also feature the logo of the longest-running sponsor in the NNS on the hood. The No. 30 Great Clips/AccuDoc Solutions machine will show off a pink paint scheme in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness as well.
Previous experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway… For Brad Sweet, it’s been a season of many firsts. Most weekends this season, he has headed to a track he has never even seen before. This weekend, he will drive the No. 38 Great Clips Chevrolet at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a track in which he has two previous starts at from his time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS). In 2010, Sweet started 20th and finished 21st in the 134-lap NCWTS event at CMS. Last year, he showed significant improvement, qualifying fourth and bringing home a solid top-10 finish.
This Week’s Impala… The No. 38 team will unload chassis TMS-331 this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is the same chassis that Kasey Kahne was driving when he captured the inaugural NNS pole at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in July. Brad Sweet last drove this same car at Kentucky Speedway just a couple of weeks ago, bringing home a solid top-10 finish effort.

Who’s on the pit box?… Trent Owens, who has led James Buescher and Nelson Piquet Jr. to NNS victories this season, serves as crew chief for the No. 38 Great Clips team with drivers Kahne and Sweet. A former driver himself, Owens is a long-time fixture in the NASCAR garage. Over the years, the Darlington, S.C., native has been successful working with a variety of drivers with different levels of experience and has visited victory lane with both rookies and veterans alike including Buescher, Piquet. Jr., Mark Martin, Dave Blaney and Reed Sorenson.
Kahne and Sweet: a unique combination… Not only are Kahne and Sweet good friends off the track, but the veteran is serving as mentor to Sweet as he makes the transition from open-wheel competition to stock cars. Sweet was handpicked by Kahne in 2008 to drive for Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) where he has since experienced tremendous success in the World of Outlaws Series. Sweet will continue to compete on a limited basis for KKR when he is not behind the wheel of the No. 38 Great Clips machine in the NNS. You can expect Kahne to be very involved and present in the NNS garage when Sweet is behind the wheel of the No. 38 as he will closely monitor his progress and offer encouragement.
Kahne brought Great Clips their first win! From 2003-2005, Kahne and his sponsor, Great Clips, Inc., reached momentous milestones, including capturing Kahne’s first Nationwide Series victory in 2003 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It was also Great Clips’ first win as a primary sponsor. In 2005, Kahne captured his second career win at Texas Motor Speedway before leaving the Nationwide Series to allow more time for his Sprint Cup Series efforts.
Great Clips goes racing with the World of Outlaws in 2012! Great Clips will serve as sponsor for KKR driver Joey Saldana for the 2012 World of Outlaws season. The Minneapolis-based company has been a sponsor of KKR for the past two seasons. This year, they will be featured on all three KKR entries – as a primary sponsor on the #9 with Saldana as well as associate sponsor placement on Brad Sweet’s #49 and Cody Darrah’s #5 World of Outlaws cars.
12 Years and Counting… Great Clips, Inc. is currently the longest-running sponsor in the NNS and has used the Nationwide Series as their primary marketing platform for the last 11 years. Their sponsorship began in 2000 with Akins Motorsports as they climbed on board to sponsor the team’s No. 38 entry with driver, Christian Elder. Mark Green piloted the No. 38 for one season before general manager, Doug Stringer, hired up-and-coming talent, Kasey Kahne, thereby solidifying Great Clips’ commitment to their NASCAR sponsorship.

This is the same car we raced just a couple of weeks ago at Kentucky Speedway and finished 10th in, and Kasey got the pole at Indy in this car back in July.
