No. 31 BRANDT Chevrolet News and Notes

Going Pink for a Dual Purpose: The BRANDT Foundation – This weekend, the No. 31 Chevy will feature a bright pink paint scheme, temporarily replacing the famous BRANDT red seen on a weekly basis. Not only is the team supporting a sport-wide effort to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness month, but the scheme also marks the creation of The BRANDT Foundation, which launches on Friday. The mission of the Foundation is to provide meaningful assistance and support to the communities, farms and families where BRANDT does business, with donations directed to charitable, education and social issues. Additionally, Justin Allgaier will be sporting a bright pink fire suit to match his car, which will be auctioned off at a later date as one of the first charitable efforts of the Foundation.

Allgaier at Charlotte Motor Speedway – Returning to the track where he made his NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) debut back in 2008, Allgaier will make his ninth start at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. In eight previous starts, Allgaier owns two top-five and four top-10 finishes along with six laps led. He has an average starting position of 14.5 and an average finish of 11.9. In the spring race, Allgaier scored an eighth-place finish after starting 16th.

Cheering on His Better Half – On Thursday afternoon, Ashley Allgaier will make her second start in the Motor Racing Outreach (MRO) Better Half Dash, a charity event, supporting MRO and Speedway Children’s Charities. The 25-lap race held on the frontstretch quarter-mile, pits the women of NASCAR against each other in Bandolero race cars. Mrs. Allgaier, the third-place finisher from last year’s race, will drive the No. 31 BRANDT Foundation Chevy and be leaning on the advice of her husband as he is scheduled to spot for her during the event.

Charlotte Loop Data Stats – According to NASCAR’s Loop Data Statistics at Charlotte, Allgaier ranks at or near the top of the list in three separate categories. Among active, NNS series-only drivers, Allgaier is ranked first in Closers (positions improved in the last 10 percent of laps each race), first in Laps in the Top-15 and second in Quality Passes (passes in the top-15 while under green-flag conditions).

Cheering on Turner Teammates: Kasey Kahne Foundation Five Kahne 5K – Members of the BRANDT team will join Turner Motorsports teammates Kasey Kahne and Brad Sweet THIS Sunday at the NASCAR Hall of Fame to run or walk the streets of gorgeous downtown Charlotte on a crisp fall morning! It will be a day of fun for the whole family! For more information visit www.kaseykahnefoundation.org.

This Week’s Impala – This weekend, Allgaier will drive TMS-330 in the Dollar General 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This car was previously raced at Indianapolis Motor Speedway where Allgaier finished 12th after starting from the 14th position.

Allgaier on the Friday night race at Charlotte:

“I’ve said it over and over, that I think all races should be held at night under the lights, so I’m thrilled to not only be at home at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend, but also to get to race this awesome BRANDT Foundation car under the lights. There is so much excitement surrounding this race with different drivers and teams doing what they can to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness month. All three Turner Motorsports teams will be on track with pink on their racecars and they look great. We had a pretty rough day last time we were on track, so I want to get this BRANDT Foundation Chevy up front and keep it there for the whole night. I’m ready to bring home a finish this team can be proud of.”

Allgaier on the BRANDT Foundation Chevy:

“I think it is an awesome thing that BRANDT is doing by forming the BRANDT Foundation. More than that, I’m pleased they have decided to celebrate the launch here in Charlotte this weekend by painting the car pink, which also shows the team’s support for Breast Cancer Awareness month. BRANDT is such a generous company and they now have a way to channel that giving so that it will make the most impact to the greatest group of people. I’m proud to support them in that effort in Charlotte on Friday night!”
