Biffle Practice Accident Quote

Ford Racing NSCS Notes & Quotes:

Ford EcoBoost 400 Advance (Homestead-Miami Speedway)

Saturday, November 17, 2012

Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion, was involved in a practice accident with Denny Hamlin Saturday afternoon at Homestead-Miami Speedway and will be forced into a back-up Fusion for tomorrow’s Ford EcoBoost 400. After he and Hamlin discussed the incident in front of Biffle’s hauler, Biffle spoke about what happened.

GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 3M Ford Fusion – “I don’t think that he (Hamlin) thought we were three-wide. He thought we were two-wide. Ultimately, we may not have been three-wide at that particular time, but my spotter told me to leave the 20 room and I left the 20 room. Whether he was there or not, maybe the 20 said, ‘I’ve had enough. You’re three-wide, this is practice.’ I don’t know.”

ISN’T THAT A LITTLE HARD EVEN FOR PRACTICE? “Yeah, we were running a little hard probably. I don’t know.”

WHAT DOES THAT DO TO YOUR EFFORT AND HAVING TO GO TO A BACKUP CAR? “It’s pretty tough because we’ve only got one practice left, but our other car will be really good.”

WAS HAMLIN UNDERSTANDING? “Yeah, from what I gathered from that conversation he didn’t think we were three-wide, but I also don’t know if we were three-wide. My spotter told me to leave the 20 room because the 20 had a run. I wasn’t gonna come up in front of him.”
